We’ll keep track of today’s minor moves here:
Arizona Cardinals
- Activated from reserve/COVID-19 list: CB Robert Alford
Baltimore Ravens
- Released from IR via injury settlement: WR Deon Cain
Houston Texans
- Released from IR via injury settlement: WR Taywan Taylor
New York Jets
- Placed on reserve/COVID-19 list: WR Jamison Crowder; Crowder contracted the coronavirus, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com tweets
Pittsburgh Steelers
- Released: DL Henry Mondeaux
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Placed on IR: LB Cam Gill
Tennessee Titans
- Placed on IR: DB Brady Breeze
I saw earlier that in MLB players on the COVID list don’t count against the 40-man roster, so minor leaguers can be temporarily signed to major league rosters then returned to the minors without passing through waivers. Is there a similar set-up in the NFL with practice squad players vis-a-vis the 53-man roster? For example, could Vyncint Smith be elevated to the 53-man roster without affecting the limit to the amount of times he could be elevated during the season or to the number of other players (i.e., 2) the Jets could elevate while Jamison Crowder is on the COVID list?
Well this isn’t a minor transaction and for some reason it’s not here I’d like to say RIP David Patton you had so great catches in the big games
