Rumblings about Jim Harbaugh and the University of Michigan parting ways have put the coach back on the NFL radar. For what it’s worth, Harbaugh says he remains “100% committed” to the Wolverines and his incoming class.
“Yeah, that question does come up and I tell ’em, my plan is, committed to Michigan,” Harbaugh said, referring to his conversations with recruits. “Have been, am and will remain. As far as the (contract), [athletic director Warde Manuel] and I will talk at the end of the season on the current contract. That’s the truth. That’s where it stands.”
Harbaugh is under contract through the end of the 2021 season, the final year of his lucrative seven-year pact. The former Niners head coach has reportedly explored a return to the pros, and a number of clubs are already doing their homework on him.
NFL teams are already well aware of Harbaugh’s name and history. The energetic coach led the 49ers to three straight NFC championship games in his first three years as their head coach. And, since moving to Michigan, he’s rebuffed multiple offers from NFL teams.
Crazy how all these caucasian college coaches fail upwards into the NFL
He was very successful in the NFL, what are you talking about? When another good black coach emerges, I’m sure he’ll do well.
he was good in the nfl but had some issues with management in SF and went back to college for big money he didn’t fail in college then go-to the nfl . he’s proven he can coach in the nfl. and not sure y u saying all white coaches fail in college but go-to the nfl but that’s untrue . most of all coaches not just white ones that fail don’t jump to the nfl as coaches. alot of coaches that fail as a head coach end up going back to a former coaching position and if they were good there no matter the color they might go to nfl or a college team. florida has had some coaches that were white black etc that went to the nfl as position coaches and coordinators as other schools have .
Lol always someone has to bring race into it. The world we live in…
Lol, as long as there is systemic racism coursing through practically every facet and division of life, especially here in the United States (the beacon of freedom and equality, HA), then you damn well better believe and expect that inequalities will be put in your face over and over again. The world we live in.
Where the heck did this come from? Especially when Harbaugh brought his team to the Super Bowl.
He’s not a good recruiter. The UM talent heading to the league says so. Doesn’t mean he’s a bad coach, but better off in the NFL.
Now is Michigan 100% with you, Jim.
He stinks worse than Honey Badger.
He will go whom ever pays the most
He has a four year shelf life. Otherwise he grinds people down with his style- that’s why the wheels came off with the 49ers.
Yeh, I’m 100% committed to Michigan unless somebody in the NFL knocks me over with their offer…..pretty obvious negotiating tactic on his part…..let’s see if somebody bites down on who he was before in the NFL instead of what he may be in the future.
Michigan would dump him if they could but he has a $6 million dollar buyout for next year. That’s what Harbaugh is “committed” to.
“Please no” – every Michigan fan.
Glad to hear he is committed, he sucks!!
Imagine him with the Chargers and a Justin Herbert
Until the end of the season where he becomes the head coach of the Bengals.
Idk why he left the nfl to begin with. Great nfl coach and if he returns he’ll be a super bowl contender in 2 years
Honestly, as a Penn Stater, I hate to say this, but, in recent years, Big Ten football is Ohio State and everyone else. Some decent teams, but, there is no doubt about the class of the conference. His record against them is pretty indicative of this.
The Lions need to pounce. He’s the coach to break the curse.
