If the Cardinals decide to trade second-year quarterback Josh Rosen, expect the Redskins to be at the front of the line for his services, NBC Sports’ JP Finlay writes. 
Siting ESPN’s Todd McShay, who said he keeps hearing the Redskins from league sources, Finlay notes that Washington appears to be the front-runner for the UCLA product but will not include its first-round pick in 2019 in a deal.
Between Alex Smith (34), Colt McCoy (32) and Case Keenum (31), the Redskins would appear to make sense as a team in need of a young quarterback to build around. While the team has another four years committed to Smith, who broke his leg in 2018, it remains to be seen when he will return to the field. Though the newly acquired Keenum will compete with McCoy for the starting job, both have served most of their careers as backup signal-caller and would appear to not serve as a road block to Rosen, should a deal get done.
Though that first-round pick is off the table, Finlay says that a package of picks spread out over two seasons is firmly in play. With four selection in the first three rounds, Washington has plenty of ammo needed to make a deal work.
In addition to the Redskins, Rosen has been linked heavily with the Giants, Chargers and Patriots in recent days.

Look at Brady.. behind Bledsoe, look at Rodgers behind farve, look at maholmes, behind smith.. so many of the top qb’s in the game learned behind another stud. I firmly believe if Rosen doesn’t take that path he is going to be a HUGE bust I don’t think with a great mentor and a great system he will ever be an above avg qb esp based on the teams besides NE interested that have no weapons and have been at best avg teams for years… players just get money hungry and too often don’t take the right path to stardom and bringing the best in themselves out.
Can you guys stop putting that evil on the Patriots? He’s really not that big of an upgrade over Hoyer, and there’s MUCH better options in this draft and next. If the Redskins wanna make a stupid move and trade for him go ahead. New England and the fans do not want him.
How is it a stupid move if they wont trade a first? Trading a 2nd and a few lesser pieces is really not a bad move. Brady and Hoyer aren’t long term options. Rosen needs more than 1 season on the worst team in the NFL before you judge him
Because he’s absolutely trash, I don’t care if he’s only been in the league for 1 year he was trash in college too so I’m suppose to think it’s gonna miraculously change???? Spoiler it won’t, Patriots have major needs at TE and WR they won’t spend an early pick on a QB that won’t start for the next 3 years it’s not rocket science man. Pick #32 is basically a 2nd. If the pats offered their 1st and a 3rd for Rosen and a 4th Is go for it.

Do you realize if Rosen was coming out of college this year he would 100% be the first QB taken…… to say there are MUCH better options in this years draft is just absurd and points to you not knowing anything about college football and it’s prospects.

Exactly, the cardinals are the worst team in football and by far the worst run. They fire last years coach after 1 season and hire a college coach who has zero nfl experience and doesn’t even have a very good college record. The guy isn’t even qualified for an NFL coordinator job. Now they are gonna get rid of the best pure passer in last years draft and replace him with a 5′-10″ college system QB. The organization is a laughing stock. It would be a blessing for Rosen to get traded to a team with some talent and some semblence of an o-line.
