Kyler Murray could be well on his way to being a top 5 pick in the NFL Draft. The Oklahoma quarterback measured in at 5’10” at the NFL Draft combine, which should give teams some comfort in his ability to see over defenders.

Murray’s formal measurement put him at one-eighth of an inch over 5’10”, which was no small matter. There were rumblings of Murray being no taller than 5’9″ without shoes and such a measurement would have been devastating for his draft stock.
Murray’s hand also measured at 9.5 inches, which should be good enough to palm and handle an NFL football. That might not sound like a big deal, but quarterbacks have slid down the board in the past due to their hand size. His weight of 207 pounds should also bring comfort to execs who were concerned about whether he’d able to absorb hits at the pro level.
With those hurdles cleared, Murray should be one of the first names called in April. He may even be a contender for the No. 1 overall pick, which may or may not be kept by the Cardinals.
He will go in the top four overall!
He’s not Russell Wilson. Waste of a draft pick.
Best thing that happened to Russell Wilson was that he fell to a team with a solid running game and a dominating defense. Is he a good QB? Yes. Was his ability aided by being able to extend plays, instead of being a “pocket passer”? Yes. I’m glad you have that crystal ball to already see it’s a wasted pick.
The best thing with Russell Wilson was him being a third round pick. Not as much pressure like Kyler Murray will being getting if drafted in the first round, especially if it’s the top half.
Being a 3rd pick to a terrible team would’ve still been a lot of pressure also. When you have the luxury of not having to carry an offense is also beneficial to the learning curve. Murray will have tons of pressure if he’s pooped early in the draft, cause it will likely be an awful team. Again, Wilson is a good QB, but he benefitted from being drafted by SEA n particular
The comparisons to Wilson are based on size and potential ability, I’m curious as to how smart Murray is. Wilson was a straight A student who is considered one of the smartest players in the game, and his football intelligence is off the charts.
Murray does come across real well in interviews and he picked up the Oklahoma offense quick enough to win the Heisman, so he’s got to have at least a fair amount of intelligence. Seems like a pretty bright kid, honestly
He bombed his interviews with Gatorade. What are you talking about?
It is always better to be drafted by a better team. The main reason most QBs fail is due to the fact bad teams draft them . Aaron Rodgers benefited being drafted late by the packers
Thats like me saying Haskins is not Tom Brady, waste of a pick. Pretty close to the same size, and Haskins isn’t exactly good at running but I won’t since it’s incredibly stupid to say something like that before he even gets drafted
Saddest headline I’ve ever read. Fandom has officially gone too far for me when a dudes height is a news story lol.
It’s a story, because it’s important when jt comes to his play at the best level
Good thing Christian Hackenberg was 6’4”.
Exactly
Coming into the draft process there were 2 main concerns with Kyler 1. If he would even pick football over baseball 2. His size. Both are no longer concerns if he runs a fast 40 he’s a top 5 pick if not 1. Excellent runner, strong arm, quick decision maker
Agreed. I hope he somehow falls to the lions at 8 but I doubt it. He will be picked before Haskins.
Raiders make all the sense in the world.
Man I can just visualize Murray spending the last month hanging upside down, held by his feet, to try to make himself taller LOL
