Just heard the NFL tweaked the rule regarding players placed on IR before cut-down day, where in previous years the were ruled out all year, but now up to two players can be brought back to the 53-man team later in the year. This is in addition to the PUP list, where players placed upon PUP must be added to the 53-man on cutdown day.
Thus, I find it interesting that Ian Wheeler could be brought back in-season and needn’t be protected Tuesday after being place on IR. I like his chances of winning RB2 by season’s end behind Swift.
Ugh, Wheeler tore his ACL so he will not be back regardless of the rule change.
