NBA teams can begin negotiating with outside free agents on Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. CT, and our sister site Hoops Rumors (@HoopsRumors on Twitter) has all the latest news, rumors and transactions for each of the league’s 30 teams.
For the first time in 2024, NBA teams were permitted to negotiate with their own free agents one day after the NBA Finals ended (the Celtics won their 18th championship on June 17). That’s why several of 2024’s top free agents — including Pascal Siakam (Pacers), OG Anunoby (Knicks) and Immanuel Quickley (Raptors) — have already agreed to new contracts.
However, there are some huge names heading for unrestricted free agency, including LeBron James, James Harden, Paul George, DeMar DeRozan, and Klay Thompson. James is widely expected to return to the Lakers; there hasn’t been much news about Harden, but the Clippers hope to re-sign him; George’s future is unclear after spending the past five years with the Clippers; there has been “growing buzz” that DeRozan won’t be back with the Bulls; and the Warriors are reportedly preparing for Thompson’s departure after he spent his first 13 years with Golden State, winning four championships.
We’ve already seen a flurry of trade activity this offseason, both leading up to, during, and after the NBA draft, which took place over two days (on Wednesday and Thursday) for the first time this week. Former Defensive Player of the Year runner-up Mikal Bridges (Knicks), former All-Star Dejounte Murray (Pelicans), rising forward Deni Avdija (Trail Blazers), and defensive ace Alex Caruso (Thunder) are among the players on the move.

The tough part is secrecy around contracts. And minimal notable movement between organizations.
But could still cover matchup rumors and be an organized binder of fight cards, injuries, and what I’d be interested in would be a wealth of stat pieces and in-depth hindsight statistics from the interesting fights.

Seriously what could someone do on a basketball court now that could impress you at this point? We had Jordan dunking, Shaq dunking it. Yao dunking it. LeBron dunking it. Some guy on the Mavericks we’ve never heard of dunking it.

Last couple are only ones that are entertaining.
Basketball is a gym class activity by definition, who’s initial rules didn’t even have a shot clock or competitive system.
It was literally an activity based on passing the ball around to teach teamwork to get the ball in the literal basket… on the ground.
Football however is the ultimate chess game, with live action pieces. Born on the field. Without the principles n teachers n gym class shrewdies.

When the sun goes down. A rest. The cool air flows over damp shirt backs . And peace and solitude is made in jest of jokes and laughter after egos were tested on the field.
Football isn’t about fantasy stats and madden ratings and Taylor swift screen time.
Football isn’t about kneeling for the flag because you have a pencil head and everyone already doesn’t like you.
Football isn’t about driving 95 miles per hour over the speed limit on a freeway at 3am.
Football isnt about assaulting your loved ones or hiding from the police for two weeks so that your contract vests.
Football isn’t about driving the wrong way down a 1-way street and sideswiping 13 cars while being chased by police before ripping your shirt off and being tazed in a public area.
No.
Football is about everything.
NBA you can pretty much just do whatever you want , especially if you’re ball-dominant with a shot.
UFL is better cuz it’s guys trying to make the NFL and is FOOTBALL.
and NHL is better because it requires the most unique skillset.
And UFC is just wild and always goin.
