Saturday’s lone minor move around the NFL:
Denver Broncos
- Re-signed: FB Michael Burton
Burton has seen time with six teams during his nine-year career. He joined the Broncos last offseason and appeared in all 17 games for Denver in 2023, receiving 10 offensive touches and remaining a core special teams contributor. As Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette notes, the 32-year-old will receive the veteran salary benefit ($1.21MM) on this deal. He will carry a cap hit of $1.15MM.
Rutgers RAH! Some RU players have been successful in backfields recently. Burton re-signs with the Broncos. Gus “The Bus” Edwards replaces Ekeler in LA. Of course, Isiah Pacheco gets another ring with KC.
#1 Kudos for the ode to the phenomenal one!!
#2 Also, people severely underestimate the impact Rutgers has had putting guys into the league. It seems like almost every year they’re putting at least one or two quality guys in, and pretty much seems like they’ve been doing it consistently going back to the old Schiano days.
I could be wrong, I’m not even a Rutgers fan, nor do I even follow their team, but it sure seems like there are always a handful or more quality players proudly representing them each and every season.
