Earlier this month, a prosecutor dismissed the misdemeanor assault charges against wideout Davante Adams, a spokeswoman for the Kansas City municipal court told Robert A. Cronkleton of the Kansas City Star. The charges stemmed from a post-game incident at Arrowhead Stadium back in October.

Following the Raiders’ Week 5 loss to the Chiefs in Kansas City, Adams allegedly shoved a cameraman to the ground, injuring the individual. Video of the incident was captured on the live broadcast. The receiver later apologized for the confrontation.
Adams was charged with the crime shortly thereafter. The charges were dismissed on June 5, and per Cronkleton, the charge “is now considered a closed confidential case under Missouri law.” Adams still faces a civil lawsuit filed by the cameraman, who claims he was diagnosed with a concussion and “feared for his life” during the incident. The individual claims he’s also been harassed online.
As we noted back in May, it was believed the NFL would await the outcome of the misdemeanor charges before deciding on any fine or suspension. The NFL could still realistically discipline Adams under their personal conduct policy, but yesterday’s development likely helps the receiver’s case in that regard.
During his first season in Las Vegas, Adams earned another first-team All-Pro nod after finishing with 100 catches for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns. Next season, Adams will be playing with his third QB in three years, as the Raiders replaced Derek Carr with Jimmy Garoppolo.
There’s nothing “allegedly” about the incident. It’s on video.
According to the prosecutor nothing happened.
My guess is the incident didn’t meet the criteria for assault under Missouri law
“inflicting, or attempting to inflict, physical injury on another. touching someone in an offensive or provocative manner, or. placing another in fear of imminent harm.”
The cameraman “Feared for his life” lmao what?
Think it meant to say since the incident he has feared for his life because of all the nut jobs that have threatened him
Dindu Nuffin…but it’s on video. SMH
Of course there’s a civil suit! Which of course the cameraman and his lawyer will want to settle outside of court. So ridiculous. How many times during a game do you see players barrel into cameramen or workers on the sidelines at almost full speed and they get knocked over and get up. Never hear about a civil suit from them. Also, I would assume getting bowled over as opposed to getting pushed is a hell of a lot more painful.
Nothing to see hear, just another cash grab attempt.
You don’t see the difference? You can’t be that obtuse.
Are you really that short sided? Let me guess your. Raiders? Fan. Please check into a psychiatric clinic for 72 hours please.
Getting bowled into by a player during the flow of the game = unintentional
Getting shoved by a player deliberately = intentional
Do you see the difference yet?
Diagnosed with a concussion and “feared for his life”
That’s a little exaggerated imo
Another wait and see situation from Americas favorite professionals. Mixon, Kamara, Adams, and Hill what do they all have in common?
Answer: Pretty good fantasy production value, cannot wait to draft these guys on my team.
If your fantasy league needs someone who uses a dart board to make selections, let me know.
I think I just cracked a fingernail typing this comment. What kind of injury settlement can I get from PFR?
Seems ‘dismissal of charges verses being charged’ is relative to your – star power or number of pro bowls. The dismissal responsibility falls squarely on the local DA so it’s on that entity to view the video clip and comprehend the facts, however if your head is up your butt it’s hard to visualize the interaction.
Of course there’s a civil suit. Always follows these days if the offender has money or something if value. Not for or against as I reckon it’s ‘grab all the gusto you can when you can’.
Ridiculous that this was even being considered an assault charge in the first place. Concussion and feared for his life.. if anything the video helped with the dismissal. Adams will probably win the civil case too
So… Kareem Hunt is persona non grata, and loses half a season and his spot on KCs roster for lightly kicking a drunk trespasser on her rear
…after she spits on his party guests, swings at his girlfriend, and drops a dozen N-bombs.
But nothing-to-see-here when Adams shoves a cameraman backwards over equipment and into a wall… for DOING HIS JOB by filming Adams leaving the field?
Kareem didn’t invite that girl to his party… and Davante, that cameraman isn’t the one who chose money over signing with a competent team.
Media made kc cut Kareem cause they didn’t wanna see them win even more superbowls than they already have or will
So I’ve watched both video clips and the Kamara pop also along with the postings of nfl and nba players flaunting weapons – having been exposed to these malicious displays “I’m traumatized and in fear of not having a life”.
Any lawyer reading this reply – I want to sue, in no particular order;
NFL, NBA, Kamara, Hunt, Adams, Raiders, KC, Browns, Dolphins, Saints, ABC, NBC, CBS, ESPN and YouTube as I’ll never be able to rid my brain of the terror.
