It sounds like the two New York teams could be eyeing the best cornerback in the draft. According to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.tv, both the Giants and Jets have “strong interest” in Cincinnati cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner. Both organizations will host the cornerback on a top-30 pre-draft visit.
The Giants and Jets were present for Gardner’s Pro Day last week, with the Giants going as far as to take the cornerback out for dinner. The two organizations also met with the player at the NFL scouting combine earlier this month. Of course, the Jets and Giants aren’t the only teams to show interest in Sauce; per Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com, the Eagles, Lions, and Seahawks will also host the player on a top-30 visit.
Gardner is one of the draft’s top prospects, and for good reason. Standing at 6-foot-3, the cornerback ran a 4.41 in the 40-yard dash, and after allowing only 6.6 yards per reception last season, he earned consensus All-American and conference Defensive Player of the Year. In 33 games with Cincinnati, the cornerback had nine interceptions.
As Vacchiano notes, many believe Sauce won’t get past the Giants at No. 7. That means there’s little chance that he falls to the Jets at No. 10, so the team may need to use pick No. 4 if they hope to roster the best cornerback in the draft.
They damn well should. Wouldn’t be mad to see the Jets take him at four.
So what youre saying is you wouldnt be “ahmad” if they took him at 4?
Ill see myself out. Goodnight everyone!
I just thought. What if they traded # 4 to the team with #6 and picked up a 4th or 5th to go with. This way they can get him snd an extra pick
Detroit could take him at 2
Roster is not a verb, dude.
Roster can be used as a verb.
As a verb it means “to be put on a list” or an equivalent to a list.

As long as the Giants grab one of Ikwonu, Neal, or Cross, I would love Gardner with the other pick.
any future all pro two starters works for either team
Stingley is the best CB in this draft.
Only if he can stay healthy.
Only if he applies himself. The film on him last year is mediocre, he was burnt multiple times, looked disinterested, and avoided contact. He seems to lack heart and that is something that cannot be lacking in a lockdown CB. Right now he’s looking like the 3rd or 4th best DB.
A whole lot of LSU players looked like they gave up on Coach O, but yeah, it adds risk to him. Wouldn’t be surprised if Stingley is the best player out of this draft, but also wouldn’t feel comfortable taking him top five.
This is great for the Giants cuz it puts pressure on the Jets to take him at 4. That would guarantee that the Giants can grab one of Hutchinson, Thibodeaux, Neal or Ekwonu.
Jets should go with Thibodeaux or Walker at 4. If they’re determined to go for a DB at 10, they should take whoever is left of Sauce, Stingley, and Hamilton.
Walker at four is too rich for me. He wasn’t productive enough in college. If Thibodeaux is on the board, no way I go Walker. I’d take Gardner over Walker too.
I just read that Thibodeaux could fall because there are concerns about his motor and commitment and because he performed poorly in interviews. That said, the talent is undeniable. If the Jets decided to go with Sauce at 4, I wouldn’t let Thibodeaux fall past 10.
I think those concerns are overblown. He still produced a lot more on the field than Travon Walker. I don’t care that he has off-field interests and an ego.
I feel bad for Sauce Gardner
Hoping the Jets stay off the Sauce at #4.
