Brian Daboll‘s presence led to the Giants being linked to Mitchell Trubisky. While that deal did not come to fruition, Big Blue is adding one of Daboll’s former charges.
Jon Feliciano is heading south to join Daboll in the Big Apple, Matt Parrino of Syracuse.com tweets. The Giants are planning to shift the veteran guard to center as well. Feliciano’s one-year Giants contract comes shortly after the Bills made him a cap casualty.
This marks the second starter-caliber O-lineman the Giants have added Monday night. Mark Glowinski agreed to terms earlier; he will stay a guard. As for Feliciano, the three-year Bills starting guard will give center a shot. Feliciano, 30, started 16 games for the Bills in 2019 but was limited to 15 starts over the ensuing two years. Injuries plagued Feliciano in 2020 and ’21, with a torn pec sidelining him for much of the ’20 season and a calf injury shelving him last year.
The Giants’ O-line plans are starting to come into focus. Glowinski is being paid to start. While the terms on Feliciano’s deal are not known, he was a starter for Daboll and offensive line coach Bobby Johnson — now the Giants’ O-line coach — for much of the past three seasons.
Beginning to look like the Giants might and I say might, not be targetting o line with their top 2 picks.
Trade back if possible, build picks, avoid the underwhelming picks up top maybe?
Still need a right tackle and money is an issue for us. They were never gonna make both picks o line. I expect one of the two big tackles or pass rushers are there at 5 to be the pick and then sauce Gardner at 7. If one of those 4 big names aren’t there at 5 then they should trade down
If they sit at 5&7 they’re guaranteed two blue chip players. With one fell swoop that can turn a teams future around.
One first rounder and either a second or third on the OLine would be reasonable
Both their signings have been guards, positions it would have been ludicrous to address at 5 or 7. Still entirely possible they draft a tackle with one of those.
There is no way in hell if ekwonu or neal are there at 5 they dont draft them. The way its looking currently jags lions and jets dont go oline so quite possible they get their rt there
Jags will get Hutchinson but why would you think lions and jets wouldn’t go for o line. Texans for that matter could.
They will target OL with the #5 pick, imo. Neal, Okwonu, and Cross are the only ones projected to go that high, so they will try to grab one of them at #5 and either take whatever defender is left (Hutchinson, Thibodeaux, Gardner, Hamilton, Walker, Johnson, or Karlaftis) or trade down and try to take one of those defenders. Hutchinson will likely be gone, but any of the others could be there at #7, especially if Willis gets drafted high.
Nice depth piece. Gono, Glowinski, and now Feliciano. I like that they are addressing the Oline.
Next up for the Giants, JOSE FELICIANO !!
He wants to wish you a Merry Christmas
Feliz Navidad
Two solid line signings in Glowinski and Feliciano. Draft a tackle and a pass rusher with the two first rounders and this team is looking better already.
