Have you been waiting all day for Tuesday night? Thanks to COVID rescheduling, we still have two games to go in Week 15. While the Eagles, Rams, and the Washington Football Team are all jockeying for postseason berths/positioning, the Seahawks are — for all intents and purposes — out of playoff contention.
If the season ended today, the Seahawks would own a top ten pick…that is, if they owned it. The Jets, who hold the Seahawks’ 2022 first-round pick by way of the Jamal Adams trade, will be cheering for the Rams tonight.
For non-playoff teams, the draft order will be determined by the inverted 2021 standings, plus a series of tiebreakers, starting with strength of schedule. For playoff teams, the order is determined by their postseason outcome and regular season record.
Before the games begin, here’s a look at the currently projected 2022 NFL Draft Order:
- Jacksonville Jaguars (2-12)
- Detroit Lions (2-11-1)
- Houston Texans (3-11)
- New York Jets (3-11)
- New York Giants (via Bears)
- New York Giants (4-10)
- Carolina Panthers (5-9)
- New York Jets (via Seahawks)
- Atlanta Falcons (6-8)
- Philadelphia Eagles (6-7)
- Washington Football Team (6-7)
- Philadelphia Eagles (via Dolphins)
- Denver Broncos (7-7)
- New Orleans Saints (7-7)
- Cleveland Browns (7-7)
- Las Vegas Raiders (7-7)
- Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6-1)
- Baltimore Ravens (8-6)
- Minnesota Vikings (7-7)*
- Buffalo Bills (8-6)*
- Miami Dolphins (via 49ers)*
- Los Angeles Chargers (8-6)*
- Philadelphia Eagles (via Colts)*
- Detroit Lions (via Rams)*
- Cincinnati Bengals (8-6)*
- Tennessee Titans (9-5)*
- Arizona Cardinals (10-4)*
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-4)*
- New England Patriots (9-5)*
- Dallas Cowboys (10-4)*
- Kansas City Chiefs (10-4)*
- Green Bay Packers (11-3)*
* = Playoffs
Still feel sorry for Detroit fans. They could have a half dozen first round picks and still be a terrible football team
Same for the Jags. Bust, bust, bust……..
I don’t know if you can include jacksonville and detroit in the same conversation. Wasn’t jacksonville like 1 quarter away from going to the super bowl a couple years ago?
Add Jacksonville to that same sentence
Give us those two firsts and second for Russ NYG
Wouldn’t make the Giants any better considering how terrible their offensive line is, only now they’d also be saddled with Russ’s giant contract and they’d have to cut a bunch of players just to afford him. So they’d have have to cut some talent, would have no money to sign anyone, and also would have fewer draft picks. Giants would be back in the top 5 for the 2023 draft with Russ.
Dumbest post ever doing a draft order thread after each week. Just wait until the season is over. Surely you can come up with better threads.
Or… if you’re following a bad team and are rooting for a high pick it could be very helpful to know where your team stands.
Did anyone force you to click on it? Read it? Take the time to comment? No?
Really no dumber than mock drafts 6 months (or 6 weeks, or 6 days) prior to the real deal. The only difference is they didn’t need to hire 2 nerds to argue about it, with 1 repeating “Todd Todd Todd Todd Todd Todd Todd Todd” for 30 seconds straight.
The really dumb one is the day after the draft. How are you going to predict how a player does after the draft or what college players will be injury free etc. I know they take a bunch of stuff for granted like health but you need to be a real draft nerd to like those.
The only thing I get out of any mock drafts is a good laugh when they project the Packers take a WR or ILB in the first round.
Crazy how 1 game separates pics 12-25… Amazing how 1 win can cost you a draft stud to just another draft prospect..
Good observation and I think it underlines the importance of having a top notch kicker. Those guys get you that extra win when lesser kickers won’t.
Thanks Pace for trading a 5 and a 20 for an 11. Atta Boy. Well played again. I guess if you trade them all away, you don’t get ridiculed for making the stupid picks that you do. Please resign. And take that bum Nagy with you on the way out.
Well said Uncle Mike. Not a bears fan at all, but I miss playing the black and blue division and still follow it, as a bucs fan in the late 80s/early 90s. Some of my childhood highlights were watching Favre, Barry, cris Carter and Walter just destroy the bucs. The aints, falcons and cats just don’t do it for me. The bears are a mess…
Things would have to improve by tenfold to get to BE a mess.
They are both already gone
Maybe. But the problem is you have the same idiots who hired these idiots picking the next idiots. The problem is at the top. Sell.
