Running back Le’Veon Bell is back on an NFL roster, according to a tweet from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Bell is expected to sign a deal with the Buccaneers, pending a physical.
Bell appeared in five games for the Ravens this year after getting signed to the practice squad in early September. He joined Latavius Murray and Devonta Freeman to create a trio of veteran running backs tasked with filling the void created by season-ending injuries to the team’s original 1-2 punch, J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. In limited time spelling Murray and Freeman, Bell carried the ball 31 times for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Bell is once again being asked to replace some production lost to injuries with Ronald Jones II banged up and Leonard Fournette likely joining Chris Godwin and Pat O’Connor as recent additions to the Injured Reserve list.
The move reunites a dynamic duo of days past from Pittsburgh as Tampa Bay is now home to Bell and former-Steeler Antonio Brown. The Killer B’s will certainly be satisfied replacing Ben with Brady.
Arians has no problem bringing the rejects back together.
“The killer B’s will certainly be satisfied replacing Ben with Brady”. But they both regret leaving the Steelers would be my guess. Brown is half the player he was and Bell’s career is hanging by a thread. Brown is an amazing player and I believe he’d be good anywhere, but got to be great with a hall of fame qb. Bell benefited mightily by the o-line and the Ben-led offense. Never seen a player get as much disrespect as Big Ben does.
Actually brown’s per game stats are pretty good this year. He’s not 100% the player he used to be, but not 1/2 either. He’s like 2/3-3/4 the player he used to be
Roethlisberger’s had a great career, but come on. Ben hasn’t been near his top level since 2018, but Brady’s still Brady.
You’d be frustrated too after playing like that. They are humans just like you and I.
Ben also has played behind a considerably worse line than Brady the past few seasons. Ben himself is in decline, but that is a pretty contributor as to why.
Sure, but he also refuses to embrace play action and doesn’t help his line by getting the ball out as quickly as Brady does (not that many do).
Ben has been by and away the quickest getting the ball out in the last couple of seasons. This year, he’s at about 2.3 seconds. That’s the fastest in the league again.
Since they left…Bell won a Super Bowl with KC and Brown won a Super Bowl with TB. Guessing they don’t regret that.
I believe Bell was inactive for the Super Bowl. Not much of an achievement.
Bell did NOT win a super bowl.
Bell probably DOES regret the tons of money he lost, not to mention his status as one of the best players in the league, given that his career went to absolute hell ever since he decided he was going to “put his foot down” and not take $15 million for one year or whatever it was. I couldn’t be any happier with the way things turned out for the all ME team player of the decade. He’s gotten exactly what he deserved and lost everything good he had going for him. Good for you, Le’Veon…you really showed the league how to do things, didn’t you?
They need to bench crybaby Brady. Acted like a child throwing the tablet during the game. What a jerk!
ok boomer
I don’t think Mr. TB12 should be benched, but if there was a definition for taunting…..?
Rules don’t apply to Brady…the NFL wouldn’t dare do anything to it’s golden boy
God forbid someone who’s insanely competitive enough to make it to 44 playing QB at a superstar level show emotion when his adrenaline is all the way up.
Not a Brady fan but at least he isn’t cornering some young lady in a bathroom stall.
He’s a crybaby. Pouts when he loses.
Shows up teammates in the middle of games too. Never his fault either. The guy has skills…there’s no denying that, but he’s sure given a different standard for behavior than anyone else, except the other golden boy Karen Rodgers
I thought it was pretty cool.
AB and Le’veon getting their circus act back together again,
Le’Veon Bell back in the NFL! This is his last chance. And “There are no second chances” – but AB got a second chance. Now this is Le’Veon’s turn . . . three years ago you never would have thought it would be uncertain that either of these players would be on an NFL roster – not to mention the fact that they have now been together on THREE DIFFERENT TEAMS!!!!
Le’Veon is a bust, should have signed that offer from Pitt years ago.
YesYesYesYesYes!!!
Bell might not have made it through another season with 450 touches. The way Pittsburgh was wringing the maximum out in the fewest possible seasons with marginal pay was nigh criminal. Bell’s HOF chances did go up in smoke though.

everyone could see that but Le’Veon. $15 million is such an insult, and they’d only guarantee it one more year! Waaaaah. How many Americans bust their backs with NO GUARANTEED YEARS for under $30,000-$40,000 a year and end up on disability for the rest of their lives because their bodies have taken a beating? Sorry but I will NEVER have sympathy for a guy whining about only having one GUARANTEED year at $15 million left on this particular contract. NEVER! But, but, but, I deserve it…whatever, crybaby
Three teams? Pitt, Tampa and who else?
The Buccs lol
Thanks, got it! So now it’s “Pitt, Tampa”…and “the Bucs”?
Pitt, Tampa, and KC!
Oh wait – my bad – I was thinking the time the two played in the super bowl and for some reason I was thinking they played together on KC I don’t know why
SC2 –
This is about his 4th chance. No one will miss him a bit when he’s gone for good
SC 2 –
This really shows what a great coach Tomlin is. To keep those two idiots in check for such a (relatively) long period of time, and win despite ones “me first” attitude and the others insanity is nothing short of miraculous! I myself would be in the nuthouse having to deal with those two clowns for several years
10% chance that Ben “retires” from the Steelers the same way Arians did and ends up in TB as Brady’s backup.
Thanks for the laugh this morn
I’ll take that bet
Bell and Brown are hardly dynamic anymore.
This is great news for those who want to go to Dairy Queen and not have to worry about getting their order screwed up.
This is a quality joke.
