The Browns are set to sign quarterbacks Jake Dolegala and Kyle Lauletta, according to Zac Jackson of The Athletic (on Twitter). They’ll provide badly-needed insurance this week as Baker Mayfield and backup Case Keenum remain on the COVID-19 list.

The Browns have upwards of 20 players on the COVID list, so there will be more moves to come. They’re currently expected to use Nick Mullens as their starter for tomorrow’s game against the Raiders with Dolegala and Lauletta in reserve.
Lauletta, who is being plucked from the Jaguars’ taxi squad, spent the summer with the Browns. To date, the 26-year-old has just two appearances on his resume, both with the Giants in 2018. Dolegala, 25, has never seen live action in the NFL.
The league’s updated COVID-19 protocols could allow Mayfield, Keenum, and other Browns players to suit up tomorrow. Of course, their availability will still hinge on their symptoms (or, lack thereof), vaccination status, and other factors.
Steelers fan here… Delay this game until Monday night.this is ridiculous and even though everyone Browns are the Steelers rival we don’t want to see this.
Maybe if they are vexed let them play if there are no symptoms?
As a Browns fan, I first of all appreciate your comment more than anything. Respect.
Since the Browns play again on Christmas Day, a Monday game would be another short week going into Green Bay so that wouldn’t be ideal either, but I’d definitely rather they be able to play at full strength. They could also always move it back to Sunday this week instead.
Covid-19 is rearing it’s ugly head. Delay games when there’s such a huge amount of players being affected. It becomes a huge disadvantage for some teams over others.
Especially when they were bullied into getting vaccinated and yet they’re still having all of these issues.
Wow what a huge cluster f. The NFL is really screwing the pooch on this one.
Cancel/reschedule? Refund fans ticket money? NEVER!
Once again profit > covid. Shows how really “concered” the NFL is. Everything was all for show and theatre if they arent willing to shut down operations.
Dolegala has never been active in an nfl game
Lauletta was a third-stringer the last 2 years with the Falcons
At least the Browns don’t feel desperate enough to resign DeShone Kizer.
Wait I though these players are VAXED!?
Vaccinated meant stop Covid right?
I just heard that the 2022 Browns first round draft pick has also just tested positive for COVID.
How long have we lived with the flu without restrictions??????
It’s a F’ing virus ! When will people learn the S isn’t going away♂️
