Nate Orchard was recently on the Minnesota Vikings Practice Squad. Could it be that the MAIN INTEREST the Packers have in him is to “mine” his knowledge of the Minnesota Defensive Schemes in preparation for the rematch between the Packers and the Vikings??
Check the rest of GB’s injuries to LB’ers. They need bodies, I doubt they are the least bit concerned about the rematch with Minnesota. Or that they’d acquire much from him they didn’t already know from first hand experience.
Position listed with the Vikings was DE, not LB.
And it says here LB. Regardless, they still need bodies, and it doesn’t change the fact GB has over a month (with other opponents and a bye…) before the rematch with Minny. It has nothing to do with picking his brain for inside information on the Vikings.
And he’ll probably be gone by Christmas, so wouldn’t it make sense to wait til a week prior to the rematch, then sign someone more current? And why aren’t they signing a former Rams P.S. player? Rumor has it they play them on Sunday.
Packers release WHYTE Running Back !!
