The Browns officially waived Odell Beckham Jr. on Monday afternoon, per the league wire. Now, the rest of the league has a 24-hour window to claim the wide receiver. If he goes unclaimed — a possibility thanks to his remaining $7.25MM in salary for 2021 — he’ll be free to sign with any club of his choosing.

The league’s waiver priority is determined by the inverse of the rankings. With the worst going first, the Lions will have the first opportunity to claim Beckham. However, that won’t be happening, according to head coach Dan Campbell (Twitter link via Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com).
Beckham is hoping to land with the Saints, 49ers, or Seahawks. The Saints won’t enter a claim for him either, due to cap issues, but they could potentially sign him if he clears the wire.
“No, it’s impossible for us to put a claim in on [Beckham],” Payton said. “You just have to look at the salary cap space. And if we were going to put in a claim, it wouldn’t be something we discuss. I know it makes hit-worthy news.”
Beckham reworked his Browns deal before he was cut, making him a 2022 free agent instead of a 2024 UFA. If he’s claimed, his salary will remain the same. If he goes unclaimed, the Browns will only be on the hook for $4.25MM of that salary.
Too many practice squad receivers better than Him, not worth the much Drama and Baggage.
Guy is a bozo
He signs with *insert team* only to demand a trade a few games later
You couldn’t succeed in Cleveland just think about that for a minute.
That joke is not funny anymore the Browns are legit
I myself am a Browns fan, but the point is he is such an elite talent how the hell do you fail in Cleveland???
In fairness, the Browns is where players go to fail. They’ve proved that time and again.
He became a celebrity several years ago and ceased being an athlete.
Come to the Patriots! Mac Jones and company are on the ascension.
So you learned nothing from the Antonio Brown era, eh?
What was there to learn? He was amazing in the one game he was here and he should have been prioritized more after the suspension. Tom might have even stayed with that promise.
Would he say no to the Bengals? The LSU ties may interest him with Burrow and Chase, though he was gone before they got there. They may be on the downward slope over the last couple games, but they have the cap and the talent to interest him.
As a fan of Cleveland please by all means take him. However, your team is looking like they can and will be strong soon.
My advice, you don’t need this.
He doesn’t even know what he wants. He’d hate sf, he’ll get bench for not giving max effort on the 30 run blocks a game. He’d be wr3 in sea
He’s already a WR3
As a giants fan I was upset when we lost him because of the talent but I understood it because of the personality. Now the talent hasn’t shown up on the field in a few years but the personality sure has. Wouldn’t touch him unless I thought it he the missing piece to a championship. The packers should be calling him up. Most the other teams in the nfl either have no shot to win a ring or have a good enough receiver corps to not need him. My guess is they don’t go for him as their qb is enough of a handful and obj lands with Seattle because he seems interested in him and they have the cap space to give him the long term money he is gonna want. He will be a good soldier this year and then eventually his ego becomes an issue next year
Heard Green Bay is his #1 spot. Glad he is listening to me
Come to Denver jeudy Sutton Beckham hamler is out for this year maybe some of next
Why the Saints? Does he think Taysom Hill is a better QB than Mayfield?
You win some,You Taysom
I read the majority of these comments above and all I can say is, most of you must not actually watch football. Not a big Beckham fan, but his talent is undeniable. He runs great routes. He gets open better than close to 90% of the receivers in the league. He is a fantastic run blocking wide receiver when fully healthy.
I think you all have fallen for the media game owners use.
Browns wanted him gone more than he didn’t want to be there. They wanted a reason to get him to let them out of the next two years of compensation of $18M/year and used the media to help make it happen. Both sides got what they wanted, but the Browns look like the good guy in the process, which is laughable. The team does not run an offense that justifies an $18M/year receiver and wanted an out, so they forced an out. Open your eyes and watch the game and don’t listen to all the BS rhetoric the media spews on you.
Watch him play and you will see, he clearly passes the “eye test”.
He is a top 10% receiver in this league by all measurable data and in the right scheme will more than likely accel.
Time will tell, but he is still a physical player with a lot left in the tank and still gets open at a very high rate.
Apparently you don’t watch the games. Beckham was gone after this year anyway. Nothing guaranteed and no cap hit for Browns. You can’t deny the Browns play better without him. He’s never been to the playoffs but his team has. He ran the wrong routes most of the time and freelanced too much. He actually is addition by subtraction
Looks like you stopped watching football about 4 years ago…..
You’ve watched too many YouTube videos from Senior. His route running was not crisp and often, by the time he would be open, it was because the throw had gone elsewhere or protection had broken down. Too many drops this year in particular to warrant the trust to throw to him in critical situations. He still can be an effective receiver in the right system but Cleveland wasn’t it. Even then, he will only be a two or three WR believing he is a one and that ship has sailed. Problem is, he’s still standing on the dock.
Hasn’t been the same since he fought with the kicking net.
Thats cuz he knows that we all know the net won

Were you also on OBJs party boat in South Beach all oiled up and nearly naked with the rest of the fellas?
