The Saints are working the phone lines to try and trade up to the top 10, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports (on Twitter) hears. Currently, the Saints are heading into tonight with the No. 28 overall pick.

Earlier this week, we heard that the Saints are looking at Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Farley. Agent Drew Rosenhaus says his client is on track to be gone by the No. 20 pick, but it’s hard to imagine teams in the top 10 reaching for him. The Virginia Tech product is talented, but he’s undergone multiple surgeries and hasn’t played since 2019.
Instead, if the Saints are thinking cornerback in the early order, they may be eyeing the likes of Patrick Surtain II or Jaycee Horn. Saints GM Mickey Loomis could also consider top-tier quarterbacks in the wake of Drew Brees’ retirement. Other (and perhaps less pressing needs) include linebacker, wide receiver, defensive line and tight end.
Trading up that far for a non-QB would be asinine.
They must have one they really like over the others because, yeah, the first one probably doesn’t go before Dallas at #10. That seems a steep price for a CB, though.
They already did that with Davenport and traded an extra 1st to do it lol
I don’t like it. If it’s not for a QB, they probably wouldn’t have a chance at a top QB next year since the trade would surely include next years first round pick, and no telling what else. Not worth the cost unless its a QB.
Great point about next years ability to draft a qb if they move up today
In my own personal mock, I have NO moving up to 22 to leapfrog the Jets for Caleb Farley. But what the **** do I know..
Your guess is as good as the ‘experts’!
Good chance that the Bears take Farley at 20.
What about #14? Farley should be there and I’ve heard the Vikings want to move down
What are they smoking over there?
Weed. It’s New Orleans…
Pushing for a top 10 pick is going to cost you some pieces you don’t want to let go of Sean.
Yeah, trade a bunch of picks for an injury risk CB. It’s not like the team only has one useful linebacker on its entire roster…
There is a Farley good chance he gets drafted
I can see the Saints trying to make a play for Mac Jones if they can. He fits well into what they do offensively. The coaching staff has already said they are going to re-emphasize the run game this year, so the QB just needs to be a “game manager” (hate that term) because he will have weapons. Play action is also very prevalent in the Saints offense, and Jones showed that well last year, too.
Also, don’t discount the fact that Sewell may still be available, and the Saints love OL, or if they move into the middle of the round, Parsons or Collins could be the pick. There will be depth at CB, in the division they play in, Saints need LB, DL, CB, WR help.
