I hope you are right..however tightend position is blowing up in value especially one who produced like he did…would not be shocked if someone was willing to give up a second for him…backend of the second round teams may pony up…not to mention this draft is very weak at tightend beyond one elite guy
Interesting.
Vikings drafted Carlson in Round 5 in 2018.
Unceremoniously dumped him when he failed to perform.
Raiders rescued him from the scrap heap a month later.
Been there ever since.
And value him enough to slap him with a 2nd round tender
In one game. He missed three FG’s in one game, and old school Mike Zimmer, Bill Parcells disciple Mike Zimmer, cut him after one bad game.
The Vikes should have stashed him on the practice squad, had him practice with his veteran replacement, and then brought him back up to the team when he was ready. They did virtually the same thing to their long snapper last season, cut him after a couple of bad games and didn’t bother trying to stash him on the PS for a bit, even though he had come out of college billed as the best long snapper prospect in a thousand years.
Sometimes the old school prejudice against kicking specialists is just spite your own self stupid.
So Shaquil walking cost Shaqueem a job.
Brother better step up with the new team.
