Free agency is right around the corner, and tonight is like Christmas Eve for NFL fans. The real action will start in the morning, but we’re already starting to get reports about what’s to come. The more we hear, the more it sounds like the Jets are going to be big players in what will be a very interesting market due to the lowering of the salary cap.
We already heard the Jets will pursue Patriots guard Joe Thuney, and that apparently isn’t the only big target they’re interested in. The expectation from sources around the league is that the Jets will “make waves” in free agency, Connor Hughes of The Athletic tweets. GM Joe Douglas is apparently ready to be a big spender, and “there is absolutely no financial restriction on Douglas this offseason,” Hughes writes.
Hughes goes on to say Douglas “has means & green light to build team however he wants. That means pursuing top-tier FAs and giving them top-tier $, if he wants.” In a separate tweet, Hughes says one source told him the Jets “want the big guys.” When asked whether that meant size or money, he replied “both.”
Thuney would certainly fit both of those criteria. Finally, Hughes tweets that while Douglas will be “aggressive,” he won’t be reckless, and that he’ll have “his walk-away numbers.” One source told Hughes that “Joe doesn’t do desperate.”
Sounds like the Phillies wanting to “spend stupid money”
Or maybe they have money to spend when every one else is cutting.
Shocker. The Jets haven’t been able to draft talent in years.
Outside of Darnold, they’ve done well enough.
I mean Mekhi Becton had a really solid rookie year and will likely be a franchise LT and Quinnen Williams had a breakout season with 7 sacks last year with a terrible defense around him. Those were the two firsts in the JD era and both will likely end up being franchise players for the Jets in the near future.
Jets fans deserve something good after all they’ve been through.
Classic Jets…expect similar results!
Cut fant crowder 85 mil abt left.
Get ngakoue t Williams golloday for 60 get qb cb in draft

Were you in some kind of rush when you left this comment or is this just your version of English?
Listen to the man, jerry says caps going up big time soon 17 games so even 20 a year in 2 yrs won’t b so bad
Zeitler, Thuney, Skura should be the Jets top priority in free agency.
Whoever the QB is the oline needs to be top priority.
Jets should be going after 2 edge defenders, 2 guards, and a WR.
As an Eagles fan. I can tell you that the Jets will soon become one of the better teams in the league. Douglas is a bright guy and he’s very deliberate. He nailed his HC decision. His FA moves will make sense and not be reckless. His drafting will have purpose. He’s going to add weapons for Darnold to see what he has in him. And isn’t going to knee jerk into picking a QB this year at two. He has three WRs and one TE to pick from at two and he’s going to choose one of them with that pick. It finally looks like better days are ahead for the Jets.
I wonder if you would be praising the Jets so eloquently if the Eagles weren’t 11-0 lifetime against gang green.
Speak in a language unknown outside Queens.

I’m assuming that your referring to Yankees28. I was thinking the same thing LOL
Not a Jets fan but I hope it works out for them.
Making waves isn’t all that difficult when your drowning.
I’m not a Jets fan but would love to see them competitive. I just like good football.
It’s going to be real interesting to see what the Jets end up looking like this year with so many different directions they could go. Hope they choose the right one(s).
The Jets pulled this stunt two years ago with Le’Veon Bell… I’m not convinced that their front office is capable of making smart decisions regarding free agency…
Classic Jets… they haven’t been able to draft their way out of a wet paper bag last 10 years and they want to sign Free agents? What a joke
20 hours later…Nope!
