The Super Bowl champs have signed eleven players to reserve/futures contracts for 2021. Shortly after their boat parade, the Buccaneers announced low-cost deals for:
- OLB Quinton Bell
- WR Cyril Grayson
- S Javon Hagan
- WR Travis Jonsen
- G Nick Leverett
- TE Codey McElroy
- CB Herb Miller
- G John Molchon
- WR Josh Pearson
- DL Benning Potoa’e
- DL Kobe Smith
The list mostly draws from the team’s year-end practice squad, save for Leverett who was dropped in the postseason for the returning Earl Watford. Now, the Bucs will work to keep the band together with wide receivers Antonio Brown and Chris Godwin, tight end Rob Gronkowski, and edge rusher Shaquil Barrett among those scheduled for free agency.
You bring back Barrett, Gronk, and Brown.
Let Godwin walk.
Gronk, Evans, Brown, Johnson, Miller more than enough.
Spend money on keeping defense and protecting Brady.
Disagree about Godwin. I believe Brown will be seeking more money than people think and he should be the one walking. Let him come back after he doesn’t find what he’s looking for elsewhere. With $29M before moves, you start my extending Barrett. Priority 2 should be Godwin followed by Lavonte. I think those three should be pretty easy to get back if they want to be here. I see Godwin taking a short term team friendly deal or playing under the franchise tag. They will cut others and move money around to fit in Gronk. Suh will probably be out and Gholston is almost replacement level so I see a 5-tech DE as a high priority early in the draft. Depth at interior OL, RB (assuming Fournette finds work elsewhere), and another edge rusher would make sense early in the draft as well. I agree continue to add to theOL and D.
That said, I would love to see Kyle Trask get a look at the back of round 2. He could soak up Brady’s work ethic and learn for a few years. I believe Brady signs another 1-2 year extension sometime in 2021.
Fully agree. Don’t forget about OJ Howard coming back.
John Molchon’s mustache is what we should be talking about.
