The Lions dropped Marvin Hall over the weekend, but he’s caught on with a new team. The Browns have claimed the 27-year-old wide receiver, per a club announcement.
Hall, a 2016 undrafted free agent out of Washington, seemed to have found a home in Detroit. After wandering the league early in his pro career, he managed 17 catches for 290 yards and two scores with the Lions in 2020. But, in an effort to see more from their younger players, the Lions cut him loose.
Hall — who previously suited up for the Raiders, Cardinals, Falcons, and Bears — enjoyed a breakout performance in Week 8, catching four passes for 113 yards. He’ll do his best to replicate that for the Browns, who are riding a four-game winning streak and pushing to end their longstanding playoff drought. Hall will have a chance to make his debut on Monday night, when the Browns take on the Ravens in Cleveland.
He has worked hard & deserved a better outcome but Detroit cut Travis Fulgham, their 6th round developmental pick so they could experiment with a CB turned WR. Just one of the many stupid moves this organization continues to make. This time, they did it without a GM or head coach. Still trying to figure out who actually made this call.
I think Quintez Cephus and Jamal Agnew are more dynamic then Hall. Plus if you look at the roster and PS, they have 3 guys that are pretty close to what Hall brings to the table. Would not be shocked to see Tom Kennedy or Victor Bolden get a call from the practice squad.
I do agree Fulgham was pre mature. He was not one of Patricia’s guys.
Fulgham and Tonyan were big misses for the Lions. Another reason why Bob Quinn was awful at his job. Cannot evaluate talent.
Lions need a new GM first before a coach. Get Dorsey as soon as you can before he goes to Houston. He’s a wildcard but he knows talent and can flip rosters quick.
