The Bills have released Jake Kumerow, per a club announcement. The move comes just days after Kumerow scored his first touchdown reception against the Broncos.
Kumerow has shifted around the Bills’ roster this year with most of his playing time coming as a special teams player. His latest promotion was prompted by John Brown‘s ankle injury — now, Brown is nearly ready to return, so Buffalo had to find room for him somewhere. Kumerow could still circle back to the Bills, though the team has to wait 24 hours to see if any other team puts a claim on him.
You can expect teams to consider claiming Kumerow, who offers a decent amount of pro experience. Before he hooked on with the Bills, Kumerow registered 20 catches for 322 yards and two touchdowns with the Packers from 2018-2019.
Could see a potential playoff opponent claiming him to try and get some inside knowledge.
Green Bay bring him back!! Whitewater Jesus needs to come home for the holidays.
He’s already better than all but 2 of Green Bays current WRs lol
Never understood why the Packers got rid of him. Rodgers loved the guy! Not surprising though when you look at the draft this past year. The top 3 picks have done virtually nothing. Only time will tell if , Love was worth moving up for. Like this team couldn’t have used a DT, the most glaring need from last year, is the same need this year.
Cause he wasn’t very good? Most teams in the league would love for top 3 picks to not contribute and be in control of the #1 seed.
Most teams wouldn’t go out of their way to irritate their HOF QB either.
Unless their HOF QB needed a kick in the rear to play better and live up to his contract. It’s a business first, feel good stories second.
The kick in the rear was unintentional. The utter and steadfast refusal to address the wide receiver was not.
It’s all well and good when you have a HoF quarterback to magically win you games, but intentionally drafting unnecessary pieces and refusing to bring in others at necessary positions is not a strategy will continue to bear fruit over time.
