The Titans received two positive tests results in their latest round of COVID-19 testing, according to NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero (on Twitter). Previous to this, the Titans seemed to have the viral spread under control with consecutive days of zero new positives.

The Titans are scheduled to play the Bills in Week 5. As it stands, that game is still on; as is the Patriots’ Sunday tilt against the Bills. Of course, the league will keep a watchful eye on the Titans and Patriots, who just received word of star cornerback Stephon Gilmore‘s positive test.
The Titans were forced to call off their Week 4 game against the Steelers and close their team facility following the first outbreak. They’ve shut down their building once again in light of the latest positives. In total, the Titans have had ten players test positive in the last two weeks, plus nine personnel members.
How do the titans and Pats both play the bills this week?
Doubleheader because they are planning for cancelled games later down the road lol
Maybe they can each play a half against the bills.
Best response ever.
there were reports that a number of coaches were encouraging the league to consider a bubble format but the league declined.
clearly the error is primarily on the players/staff, BUT the fact they can go home day after day increases the risk and that is a league protocol. Basketball and Hockey showed that while the bubble isn’t ideal, it works.
Patriots play against the Broncos Sunday
Maybe collectively they can beat the Bills!
The local talking heads (radio/tv) in Nashville are continuing to tow the “homer” line and trying to blame the league for inadequate safety standards. But if that was true, wouldn’t there be large breakouts on numerous teams? It’s one thing for a team to have to have one or two positive tests, but 20?? The Titans blew it and should have to pay a stiff price for it.
Did the Titans engage in irresponsible actions, as the Marlins and Cardinals were rumored to have done?
If not, I have a hard time vilifying them because someone’s kid went back to school, etc.
Not sure where you get “vilifying”? When you have 20 cases on one team it’s more than an accident. And the ripple effect it’s having and could still have on the entire league will justify accountability.
“Not sure where you get “vilifying”?”
“The Titans blew it and should have to pay a stiff price for it.”
There, for example.
To speak or write about in an “abusive” manner.
We have different dictionaries.
“transitive verb. 1 : to utter slanderous and abusive statements against : defame. 2 : to lower in estimation or importance.”
Is there any evidence that the Titans “blew it” and therefore “should have to pay a stiff price for it” as opposed to being victims of a pandemic?
If not, the statements are defamatory.
To my knowledge, no other team has had more than two positive tests at the same time during this season. The Titans have 20. Yet you accept the rumors about the Marlins and Cardinals’ “irresponsible actions”(defamatory btw), while you continue to ignore the obvious about the Titans… I’m thinkin’ maybe… you just like to argue.
The Cardinals thing was proven wrong. It was alleged they were at a Casino on their road trip but players/personnel that didn’t travel with the team or was with them after they departed also tested positive. So it was spread prior to it.
Apparently the gathered at a local high school field to practice when they were told not to…. so yeah. I’m going to say that they did… at least this week. Last week, when the outbreak started who knows, and Tennessee is pretty lax about this virus, so it could’ve been someone’s kid… but I’m betting it was more along the line of being idiots and not wearing masks in public.
Rather last week was when they practiced at the high school field… the weeks blur together sometimes
Titans should have to field a team or forfeit at this point
How? Washington Sentinels style. Go get Shane Falco to right the ship at QB?
The Aussie kicker!!
