Cowboys defensive tackle Trysten Hill is done for the year after tearing the ACL in his right knee against the Giants (Twitter link via NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero). He’ll undergo an MRI on Tuesday morning to confirm, but the diagnosis was immediately clear to team doctors.
The hits just keep on coming in Dallas as Hill is the tenth starter to land on injured reserve in 2020. They were counting on the 2019 second-round pick, who seemed to be on the right track after a rocky rookie year. In 2019, Hill was sent home after arriving late to a practice and he even fell asleep in the middle of a speech by Basketball Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas.
Hill was first-string for all five of the Cowboys’ games this season, including Sunday’s 37-34 win over the rival Giants. His sophomore season will end with eleven total tackles, including one TFL. Antwaun Woods and third-round rookie Neville Gallimore are on hand to partner with Dontari Poe up front, but the Cowboys will need some reinforcements. Justin Hamilton — who previously suited up for the Chiefs and Eagles — may be called up from the taxi squad.
Gator rolls Carson’s knee.
Tears ACL trying not to land on Danny Jones.
The roll is how your taught when you have a hold of only one leg. It’s only considered bad when a player gets injured.
Yeah, no one pays attention until there’s an injury. But the gator roll is taught as a tackle, not pulling him down then rolling and twisting his leg. I just meant everyone came out flaming hill for being a thug, then he tears his ACL trying not to fall on someone.
He deserves it after what he did to Carson but I hate to see anyone injured
I don’t know if anyone deserves to tear their ACL. The Carson thing was dirty but it wasn’t like it was Burfliction or anything.
Pick one of those thoughts. They don’t go in the same sentence.
I love justice.
Karma!
My thoughts exactly.
The comments cheering this on or saying he had it coming are gross. Have you watched this kid play? He’s uncontrolled in a raw way, not a dirty way. Rooting for his livelihood to get messed with is rotten.
Yeah, I saw him play… it was as dirty as it gets. Everyone saw it and he was rightly fined. Let’s not pretend it was innocent, he purposefully tried to hurt Chris Carson’s knee.
I think that’s very easy to say when you will never be tested at any of the same sort of scenarios. Rooting for or cheering on an injury like this is ghoulish.
Oh bull. Suck a fat one.
It was a clean tackle. No flag. He was fined because Carson got hurt. Safeties are taught to roll when they have a hold of one leg to prevent the runner from twisting away.
It was as dirty af. No one is taught to do that.
Cowboys should look to Tank for Trevor.
Trevor isn’t the best quarterback in the draft. Cowboys will make the playoffs. Who is better in the East? Bad division.
