Armstead is one of six players currently on a COVID-19 list around the league. He was expected to lead a Jaguars running back committee, following Leonard Fournette‘s departure. Players can be removed from the COVID list at any point. Armstead’s status will leave Devine Ozigbo and rookie UDFA James Robinson as the Jags’ running backs. This will be a team to monitor for waiver-claim adds at running back.
Nickerson, Giles-Harris and Orzich spent time on the Jaguars’ 53-man roster last season. The players jettisoned Saturday will become practice squad candidates, at least the bulk of them, on Sunday. Teams can begin signing players to their taxi squads Sunday, and after years of P-squads residing at 10 players, they will be 16-man units in this unique season.
The Jaguars could really use two talented, hard-working, and high character young men like WR Terry Godwin and S JR Reed.
If they want to turn around their awful culture, messy lockerrom, and change the novel surrounding their franchise, they should focus on keeping these young guys.
Yes, there might be some players that are a little more talented, or that have a little better physical attributes, but it is keeping guys around and in your locker room like Reed and Godwin that help change a team’s culture..
They will both land on the feet elsewhere, but with these two getting released along with Barnett, Ledbetter, and Holyfield it looks like a tough weekend for some former DAWGS..
None were really highly drafted players, but I figured each could at least make the PS and slowly work they way into some rotations..On the bright side, it sounds like cult hero and your bottle glasses wearing superhero, Rodrigo Blankenship has been named the Colts starting Kicker!! UGA’s all-time leader in points scored is going to be a great one for the Colts, and they were incredibly wise for picking him up!!
We’re strong in the WR and S Corp. The locker room is now fine that Ngakuoe is no longer around. He was the last one left and they drafted a lot of low drama team players. I didn’t read the rest of what you wrote because it was too long.
Pretty sure Parry Nickerson is a CB.
