DeAndre Baker’s attorney Bradford Cohen maintains that his client is “innocent of all charges” (via Cohen’s Instagram). Baker and Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar are both wanted for felony charges stemming from an armed robbery, though Dunbar’s lawyer has also denied the allegations.

“I want to thank [the Miramar, Florida police department] for being professional in regards to surrendering and issues with the case,” Cohen wrote. “We understand that the officers can only base warrants on what was told to them at the time. We have had affidavits from several witnesses that also dispute the allegations and exculpate our client. Our investigator has had them for some time. We would have rather presented them to the court at the proper time, rather than in the media, but in this day and age, people rush to judgment. Where some seek publicity, we seek justice. I look forward to moving this case forward to proper conclusion, as we believe our client is innocent of any charges.”
At a party on Wednesday, police allege that Baker held people at gunpoint while Dunbar stole cash and watches from them. Cops say there was also a third masked man involved and some witnesses claim that Dunbar was also armed. Both cornerbacks are facing four felony counts of armed robbery with a firearm while Baker is looking at four additional counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. Although neither player is in custody as of Saturday morning, it does sound like they will cooperate with authorities.
Baker, 22, was hoping to redeem himself this year after a disappointing rookie campaign. Dunbar, 27, was traded from the Redskins to the Seahawks earlier this year – he was looking for a fresh start, as well as a new contract.
This is what happens when people don’t shelter in place and just stay home.

Or, perhaps, they are actually innocent. It’s not like people haven’t tried to take advantage of celebrity before. I think it’s a bit premature to pass judgement. Guilty until proven innocent smh. If they are guilty, they should be punished accordingly, but let’s wait to see actual evidence

It could be they were both victims of card sharps. After revealing the cheat, they demanded their money back. The card sharps didn’t want to give the money back. According to the laws of gambling, if a cheat is revealed he and his partners have to return all the money.
I could easily see Florida card sharps playing a game like this, when caught. Why these DB’s thought it was a good idea to play high stakes poker in Florida though is a mystery to me. The game is almost always rigged against the visitors.

Was watching the Pat McAfee show. He says that while playing he was at many of these high stakes ‘underground’ card games and saw players lose up to $100k. He said it was a scary situation at these games.
Also said he saw times when people lost more then they had on them and were forced to turn over personal objects (watches, cars, etc) to make due on the money.
Not saying these players are innocent, but what if, that is what happened and the people who had to give up their stuff to pay their debt felt a bit of ‘they are millionaire football players, screw them they can afford to take the lose’ and decided to say they were robbed of their things so they can get them back? Just a theory. After all a couple of the people there say they’ve known the 2 players since they were kids. Not like they were going to vanish into the night. Like I said just a theory.
I won’t say your theory isn’t plausible. Still, they can’t just go full vigilante. I understand you’re not condoning it, too. The issue beyond the robbery in your theory is things could’ve gone sideways and someone could’ve been shot or killed.
