After adding seven rookies via the 2020 NFL Draft, the Buccaneers announced the signing of nine undrafted free agents today:
- Michael Divinity, OLB (LSU)
- Cam Gill, OLB (Wagner College)
- Javon Hagan, S (Ohio)
- Travis Jonsen, WR (Montana State)
- John Molchon, G (Boise State)
- Nasir Player, OLB (East Tennessee State)
- Benning Potoa’e, DT (Washington)
- Zach Shackelford, C (Texas)
- Reid Sinnett, QB (San Diego)
Sinnett is naturally one of the most notable name on the list, as the quarterback guided the University of San Diego to the FCS playoffs after tossing 3,528 yards and 32 touchdowns. While he’s unlikely to crack a roster that includes Tom Brady, Blaine Gabbert, and Ryan Griffin, it sounds like the Bucs want to hang on to a developmental QB on their practice squad.
Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle previously reported (via Twitter) that Sinnett will earn $152K in guaranteed money.
Jonsen proved to be a Swiss Army Knife during his time at Montana State, as he finished the 2019 campaign with 580 receiving yards and 527 rushing yards. He also completed six of his seven pass attempts for 64 yards and one score.
UPDATE
The Bucs announced the signing of four additional UDFAs:
- John Hurst, WR (West Georgia)
- Nick Leverett, G (Rice)
- Parnell Motley, CB (Oklahoma)
- Josh Pearson, WR (Jacksonville State)
I am kinda surprised that Michael Divinity and Shea Patterson weren’t picked up by teams in undrafted free agency until now and a day ago, respectively. Well, I guess it’s good that they finally have found teams lol.
Wish my name was NAS PLAYER
Someone is having an identity crisis today.
The mirror flummoxes, lemon.
I don’t personally know that guy but I love Kirk ten minutes from ETSU so it’s cool to see him get picked up
That’s awesome. I lived and worked in Knoxville for a few years and spent some time in Kingston doing some projects, I remember I drove past the campus in Johnson City a few times.
Kingsport* … sorry my upstate NY geography reflex kicked in lol
I heard the Bucs were going to sign Divinity the day after the draft was over. Not sure why there was a delay in the actual signings.
Reid Sinnett will be a great mentor for Brady.
But not as crucial for his development as Love will be for that young hotshot named Rodgers
Good to see Rusty Shackelford’s son getting a shot in the NFL. Home town boy from Arlen, Texas. All those summers lugging around propane and propane accessories for his uncle paid off big time.
Pocket sand!
I just “graduated” from OU so I’ve gotten to see Hagan a lot over the past few years. I’m not surprised that he wasn’t drafted, but he’s great against the run and can play both safety spots and possibly even linebacker in sub packages. He’s a good player.
