The Ravens’ running back room just got even more crowded. With the No. 55 overall pick, the Ravens snagged Ohio State standout J.K. Dobbins.
Dobbins was viewed as one of the best pure runners in this year’s class. He doesn’t have the best hands in this year’s crop, but his feet mostly make up for it.
Dobbins posted three straight 1,000-yard seasons at Ohio State and the Ravens believe that he can anchor the running game behind Lamar Jackson. Last year, he topped 2,000 yards (yes you read that right) with 23 total touchdowns. One year ago, some saw Dobbins as the best RB in this year’s class. He was leapfrogged by the likes of Georgia’s D’Andre Swift over time, but he still figures to have a bright NFL future, especially in Baltimore’s dynamite offense.
The rookie will fight for carries this year alongside Mark Ingram, Gus Edwards, and Justice Hill.
Some Ravens fans are upset but I don’t know how you’re mad about a guy who can step in and play but won’t have to. He’s a strong, physical runner who can pass block if they keep him in. Great pick up.
Not a position of need. We always have luck finding rb’s in the later rounds. DeCosta should’ve packaged his picks and moved to draft a difference maker at receiver or edge rusher. Lamar needs playmakers, not depth.
Exactly got Gus. Snd hill last yr. That 1 made no sense, not hating but Gus is a beast nd we always find rbs
Ingram and Gus are both only thru this year. Meanwhile, Dobbins is a first round talent that fell to the end of the second. He’ll be a beast. All of the WR were gone, and if DeCosta says we are going to be “undefendable,” this is a guy to do that.
I hate how good the Ravens are at drafting. Having him and Mark Ingram with Lamar is just downright nasty.
As on Ohio state and Steelers fan, ouch

DeCosta blew it.
interesting pick that makes the ravens even more dynamic
Great pick up Ingram literally needed help carrying the load.
you’re a Raven Dobbins!
I dont understand why people dont like this pick. Ingram and Gus could be gone after next year. Do you expect a guy could plug and play in this offense next off season? No. This gives the ravens a stud RB who can learn the system and be a stud back up if Ingram gets injured again.
Gus wont be gone
Not sure how many watched the Ravens play last year. Their offense is an all running attack. Three first-string backs is not too many. It would be nice if at least one of these running backs is hybrid, can switch to slot receiver on audible.
