The 49ers are talking trade. They’re taking calls on both of their first round picks at Nos. 13 and 31 overall, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com tweets, and they’re open dealing one or both those choices.

For months, the Niners have stood out as an obvious trade-down candidate. With no picks in the second, third, or fourth rounds, they’re eager to replenish their stockpile. After No. 31, their next pick doesn’t come until No. 156.
The 49ers turned their draft depth into edge rusher Dee Ford and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (now with the Saints). Earlier this year, they shipped defensive lineman DeForest Buckner to the Colts, bringing them the No. 13 overall pick – ammo they desperately needed.
That No. 13 pick could put them in range for an elite wide receiver, like Oklahoma star CeeDee Lamb. As tempting as that might be, they have other needs to address, including cornerback, interior offensive line, and defensive tackle.
Love to see GB move up and take a WR at 13 but it would likely cost their 1st, 2nd and 4th round (maybe more)….and we need those 2 other picks.
Lol to move up from 30 to 13 cost WAY more than a 2nd and 4th, would have to add on the GB 2021 1st round pick to even make Lynch listen. Ur boy Lamb will be a Raider before 13 tho lehgooo
Rather he go there than the jets, especially now that they’re out of oakland and in that new stadium in Vegas.
The Raiders #13 for the GB #30, #62 and their 2021 #1 is something I would do. We’d probably be on the plus side if we took the #30, #94, and next year’s #1. GB could still revert to their ’17 & ’18 record, which would make it a great trade. But even if they simply reverted to a 10-6, we’d still be ahead.
Giving up 2 firsts and a second is too much to move 17 spots.
The 13th pick is worth 1150 points
Green Bay’s top 2 picks is worth 904.
So the difference is 246 points….adding a second first rounder makes the deal completely lopsided.
Closer to equal would be 2020 first and second and a 2021 second.
The points system is a guide line if there are multiple teams bidding against the Packers for that spot it could be much higher. Supply and Demand.
In this world of hypotheticals, adding mysterious supply demand makes all arguments moot. I can shoot down any trade offer by saying it’s too light or too little because of another teams mysterious hypothetical. In these instances, the trade value chart is a fair barometer of value and what you can expect to receive. Obviously nothing is exact, but it’s more likely than expecting 300+ points of surplus value in a trade
This guy gets it ^
Exactly my thoughts on “supply and demand”
the raiders have #12. you mean the niners #13.
What green bay bay needs is that it factor a weapon like a Kittle someone who brings something the league would have issues matching with..for me that is wr chase clay pool 6’4 233 lbs 4.4 speed he is a match up nightmare and I think gm’s aren’t talking about him hoping he will slide..I’m betting he goes in the first maybe 20s someone will surprise draft experts and take him earlier then projected, nfl teams are all about having that one guy who can be an x factor
No thank you on Chase Claypool and I’ll add Donovan Peoples-Jones to the list of WRs who I’m not interested in because their production has never lived up to their athletic abilities. Combine numbers are good indicators but production also needs to factor in to the equation.
I certainly can respect everyone’s opinion when it comes to wr’s in this draft it has a ton to offer from pretty much every skill set…if he slides as projected someone going get a steal..,I have seen a lot of his high lights and a few games and he just seems to deliver great hands runs nice routes I feel the depth of this draft has pushed his value way down imo but will just have to see how it plays out
Claypool is NOT going in the first round. He’s a projected 3rd rounder and a fringe top ten receiver within his class
Rodgers is on the decline as we seen last season.Last year he was missing a lot of receivers who were wide open and looked a lot slower moving out of the pocket,i don’t even know who their backup QB is,but if he’s not a QB worth raving about then they might look for one in the draft
I really hope they don’t trade that 13th pick. Can really get a player that can come in and impact in offense and defense right away with that pick, IMO at least. Fine with them trading 31 to get more picks but I hope they hang on to 13.
Maybe they can get a pinball machine that works.
Trading 31 to Miami for 56, 70, and 141 fits it the NFL draft trade value chart well, could use those picks to fill those needs or entice Gettleman to ship Engram to SF
I like Miami as a partner for our #12. If they are drafting a QB with their #5, they’ll be a lot of sentiment towards pairing him with the best WR in the draft. And we could do so with leaving Miami with their #18 to pick an OL.
If we could trade our #12, for Miami’s 26, 39 and #70, combined with our #19, we’d get two quality WRs and DBs with out top 4, and use our 3 #3s, for OL, IDL, and LB.
Why would the 49ers need Engram? Pretty sure they’re covered at TE…
They’re not “covered” if another tight end makes the offense better. What teams best wideout is their tight end like the niners? Wouldn’t that be a reason to add a tight end
A trade back with the Vikings would make sense to me
Why would a trade back with the Vikings make sense
I agree king, vikes have a lot of picks
here’s your chance Howie. get up to #13 and then if you want jump up to #9 or #10 to jump the raiders and Jets for Lamb. Howie got up to #2 overall in 2016 for Wentz with a two part trade up. Do it one more time and assure yourself to getting CeeDee Lamb, please
I understand trading the 31st but a stud WR class you’ve gotta go get somebody at the 13th spot for jimmy to give the ball to other then kettle and Debo. I mean we gave up Buckner for nothing if we don’t utilize the 13th pick on a offensive weapon
I agree, way to good of a class of receivers to jump back when that’s ur biggest offensive weakness
I disagree though. If there was a stud WR available but the position was NOT deep in the draft, then that’s when you draft that WR. But it’s deep so you can go for another need, or obtain more picks. Maybe they can do like what they did in 1986. Very similar circumstance. They had the number 18 pick and they made 4 trades to get more picks. And had a huge payday with those picks.
I disagree if you think that WR is the biggest weakness. The Super Bowl, to me, showed O line weakness at guard (the grading system the nfl uses reflects the same) and poor DB play.
If there’s a next jerry rice available then hell ya, draft him. It’s just my 2 cents, you guys might be right.
I predict that the draft is going to be the wildest one ever and may be the most watched TV show in history.
Just the opposite, imho. The Raiders need two WRs, but there will be a lot of WR talent available in the 3rd round, that would normally be 2nd round picks.
And the recent history shows 1st round WRs not having a huge advantage over 2nd/3rd rounders.
I think Jeury & Lamb are great, but if you can get Higgins in the 2nd and Pittman in the 3rd, I think there is more added value.
49ers should trade the 13th pick.
The receiving class is deep. With the 31st pick Brandon Aiyuk, Tee Higgins, Justin Jefferson Jalen Reagor take your pick it’s a deep class.
The bears could be a dark horse candidate to trade up for one of the elite receivers.
I think New England or the Saints trade up for Love though.
Jefferson won’t be there
hOsE, I think they need to work something out with teams loaded with picks AND that are drafting behind 49ers. Minnesota (22nd with 12 total picks) Miami (18th, 14 picks) or Jax (20th, 12 picks). Patriots too (23rd, 12 picks). But I’m with you and I’d bet good money the niners made the Buckner trade fully intent on acquiring more picks with it.
I Steelers and Texans coming back into the draft for Wr for the Texans and maybe secondary help for the Steelers at number 31! Maybe the a team like the eagles or broncos to trade up to get a receiver for their young quarterbacks
As a 49er fan this is always expected and dreaded. I would always want to be excited about the player they may take and then watch them trade down for many, many 5th and 6th round picks and then sometime late in the first or second round they would take a guard out of Iowa or Hawaii
Rycm, you should google the story of the 49er 1986 draft. They had the 18th pick but traded down 4 times to add several picks. Great story. The players they ended up drafting became starters and stars. Haley, Taylor, rathman, McKyer, etc. I’m sure there are stories of teams not being successful too.
Remember a tight end from Iowa they drafted in the fifth round? Or a qb from Norte dame drafted in 3rd round?
And if you watched this years super bowl and read how their guards graded out after, you might see that drafting a offensive lineman might be the biggest need
Niners are stacked they should add on with the 2 first picks not worry right about those other picks, they are solid enough one year with out adding extra depth won’t hurt them
Swap 13 and 31 with the dolphins for 18 and 26.
Move back 5 and move up 5…..
at 18, Ruggs might be available if not your still got lots of WR to chose from and at 26 they can take a good DT …..
dolphins would definitely except, at 13 they could take at OT and at 31 they could take a safety like Delpit or Winfield
