The Vikings have released right guard Josh Kline, according to a club announcement. The move will save the Vikes $1.57MM against the cap while leaving $4.46MM in dead money.
Kline joined the Vikings on a three-year, $15.5MM deal in 2019, with $7.25MM of that sum guaranteed. He went on to play 71.7% of the team’s regular season snaps across 13 games, missing the other three due to injuries. This season also marked the end of his consecutive starts streak – he tallied 51, up until he missed Week 4 against the Bears.
Kline, who has also spent time with the Titans and Patriots, will likely find work elsewhere at a lesser rate.
they should have cut Elfline instead. dang it…
Welcome to Cleveland
Kent State product, would be a good fit.
More than likely. He’d likely be able to start at right guard but he’d at least be able to compete with Teller.
Holy f@c%!ng 2 yr rebuild. Between all the new blood this year, and picks next year and potential in coming compensatory picks? Next year’s available cap space looking good too….doesn’t promise much in line of a super bowl this year though…I thought that was the goal?
Chill guys, he’s not irreplaceable. PFF ranked him as the 26th best guard. Though we doesn’t exactly leave us much room for the OL upgrade we need…
We need money to sign our draft picks and we can get replacement level in the draft. Though yea, we haven’t been great at drafting OL lately lol
We did just fine with O’Neill. I still have faith in Bradbury too.
He’s ranked as the 26th best guard. Seeing how you need two guards to field an OL, that makes him above average.
Not irreplaceable, but a hit nonetheless. It’s all about choices though.
