The NFL has suspended Chiefs defensive lineman Breeland Speaks, as Field Yates of ESPN.com tweets. It’s a four-game ban for Speaks, though he’s on injured reserve and done for the year anyway.
Speaks landed on IR after injuring his knee in a preseason game against the Texans. He’ll spend the offseason healing up, with an eye on bouncing back in 2020.
The former second-round pick played in every game last year for the Chiefs. He finished out with 24 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.
Speaks still has two full years to go on his rookie deal, tying him to KC through the 2021 season.
Great update except for having no information as to why he was suspended.
It’s either a first time PED or substance abuse violation…..
Unless Goodell caught him betting on the outcome of a Madden football game.
It’s ESPN, they’ll decide what you need to know.
Neither LeBron or Kaepernick have anything to do with this story… so move along and be satisfied with one of their 37 current stories about those two guys.
With him being on IR does that mean he’ll serve the 4 games next yr
Yes, I to wonder about that…..
He will serve the games once he is off of IR.
Nice reporting Field Yates, no reason to say why he was suspended, no one cares….
That title is really difficult to understand
I agree.
I’m sure we will learn what happened next time he speaks.
Why though?
PED bust. Also, the suspension can run while he is on IR.
