- Suspended: CB Simeon Thomas (four games)
Interestingly Dallas’ hand was forced with Hyatt, as they promoted the offensive lineman because another team was trying to poach him away, a source told Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News (Twitter link). He’s a rookie UDFA from Clemson. Elsewhere, the Dolphins are scooping up players from other teams left and right as they build for 2020.
Name of the day: Ishmael Hyman
Can someone explain why the Cowboys (who have spent more payroll on the OL than any other team) would care if a UDFA on their practice squad got poached? What am I missing here?
don’t they have pending OL FAs? that’s atleast what I thought
Like most teams, Dallas has their top OL talent locked in for 4 yrs or more. Travis Frederick and Tyron Smith are signed until 2024 with Zack Martin and L’ael Collins until 2025. Pending OL FAs could include Joe Looney, Xavier SuaFilo and Caleb Beneoch but those guys will never have anything but a minor backup role in Dallas anyway.
They had a spare spot from Wilson’s ir
Might as well use it on a known quantity
Maybe Hyatt provides excellent Gatorade security. Just seems a bit strange to me.
