The Bengals have suspended Cordy Glenn for one game, per a club announcement. This follows Glenn’s blowup with a Bengals coach on Wednesday.
In the press release, the Bengals said that Glenn was suspended for “internal disciplinary reasons.” The team also says it will have “no further comment regarding the suspension.”
Glenn has been sidelined with a concussion and was cleared to practice this week. The veteran tackle feels the club has been trying to rush him back prematurely, which likely fueled Wednesday’s tiff.
After that argument, Glenn’s return will not happen on Sunday against the Jaguars. It’s anyone’s guess as to whether he’ll face the Rams on Oct. 27, or if he’ll even be a member of the team after the trade deadline.
This sounds shady from the Bengals
Hopefully the NFLPA can help Cordy Glenn
How is this shady? He got into a fight with a coach…
And the article implied it was because they were rushing him back post-head injury.
Exactly concussions are not something to mess with. And given the Bengals history, how many players have had issues with Mike Brown?
In the past 15+ years? Carson Palmer and Glenn are the only that come to mind
Mike Brown is a lot of things but he has always taken care of his own. He’s a horrible owner, but has always taken care of his own. All these players you refer to is a huge exaggeration. Carson Palmer wanted out and Mike Brown traded him.
No NFL team has any input on when or if a player in put in or out of concussion protocol..The NFL has a five-point progression all players must clear stage by stage before being cleared and able to return to the field of play. These were developed by the league in conjunction with a panel of brain specialists and trainers, as well as the NFLPA. Clearance from each of the five levels is confirmed by an independent evaluator, not the player or the team itself.
