Antonio Brown will play against the Dolphins on Sunday as the NFL will not place him on the commissioner’s exempt list before the contest, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com (Twitter link).
There is no criminal investigation involving Antonio Brown and his accuser, Britney Taylor. As of this writing, it remains a civil matter and with the NFL not conducting interviews with the duo until next week, the league won’t rush to judgement. However, it remains possible that Brown could be placed on the list in the future.
As we passed along earlier today, the Patriots were not aware of the civil lawsuit when they signed Brown. Neither were the Raiders. NFL players are under no obligation to disclose civil matters to teams before they sign contracts as free agents.
The Patriots have been preparing as if Brown will suit up in Miami. It’s unclear if the wide receiver will be limited in snap counts as he only joined the team last weekend.
“Long way to go, obviously. Not familiar with our offense,” Belichick said of Brown (via Schefter in a full-length piece). “The systems he’s been in have been quite different. He’s working hard to pick it up and we’re working hard to get it to him.”
Trade him now fantasy owners. This is your last chance.
Why, he’ll catch 7 for 120 + a TD this weekend.
yup..I say minimum of 120 yds,2 td.. dolphins are trash, like usual.
This season, defeating the Dolphins should only count as a half win…
but,it’s still a win! you could have the sad sack LIONS as your only in state football team..sigh
Wait till Saturday to trade him. That way you still get to use him Saturday and the other owner may not make the connection yet
Do you know how this works?
Let’s just gloss over the fact that he should be suspended for attacking Mayock alone, much less the Patriots tampering with him and getting him to trigger his release.
The Cracker comment is offensive and has racist implications.
Yup, he should get the same suspension Riley Cooper, who was on video got
Do we know for sure he said cracker or did Mayock just say he did ?
Who has more credibility ? Brown or Mayock? I’ll let you guess !
Can you figure out who has the most credibility
It’s not a he said/he said. It was out at practice, tons of witnesses, not sure if he actually said it or not, but shouldn’t be hard to verify either way
a cracker comment coming from a pumpernickel ?
What kind of cracker? Saltines and graham are delicious. Now if it was a Wheat Thin, that crosses the line. Those things are nasty.
he attacked mayock? lol, everything I’ve read said it was a shouting match.if anything mayock should be fined and suspended for acting that way to a employee!
Yeah, okay, good. And the Dolphins are a lock to win the Super Bowl this season, too.
(sings) “Fairy tales can come true…”
What? You can’t be this dense can you?
He’s just a Patriots troll. It’s hilarious watching the people of Boston defending this turd after all the years he went against them on the Steelers. Patriots fans are gross. Lots of titles to celebrate though
I guess you’ve never had a boss yell at you. You must have worked some cush jobs!
Wow – you really have short term memory issues.
No punches were thrown but AB had to be physically restrained by Vontaze Burfict from going after Mayock. It was more than a “shouting match”
Antonio Brown is a one man embarrassment to the league. It’s unbelievable that Robert Kraft got away with his rub and tub and now with this Antonio Brown tampering episode.
If these are the standards of behaviour accepted in the NFL, I’m not interested in this league until they clean up their act.
cant say that NE tampered. they attempted to trade for him and Pittsburgh decline to trade their best player to their rivals. it makes sense that Brown wanted to play for NE and alongside Tom Brady (not a fan), so he manipulated his way out of Oakland. while the narrative that NE tampered is popular, let’s face it, this was all AB doing what he wanted to do.
I agree with this take. I’m a Jets’ fan and can’t stand the Pats, but this is all on AB. If he hired social media consultants specifically with the intent of getting out of an NFL contract, that should be considered “conduct detrimental to the league.”
Alec, you shouldn’t be casting stones sir.Mr.Kraft lost his wife a while ago the man still has a “zest” for life at his age,we should all be that lucky.while I don’t really agree with the whole “happy endings” thang it’s not on me to judge.
Ok bye
I think the next big Antonio Brown story is going to involve a hot tub, a handgun, and Johnny Manziel in some way.
like I’ve said before hundred x.could be any other team and it’d be a non story! the Pats offered the Steelers a first round pick, they declined the offer.so the Steelers traded him for couple low picks to the Raiders.now here’s what’s being overlooked, the Raiders DIDNT HAVE TO RELEASE AB! but, they did.you could say they HAD TO trade AB I don’t agree,if Mayock wanted to he could’ve put AB into the cooler and dealt him at later date
That is what you get with that clown show Mayock is over his head, Chuckie is lost, and Chuckles is just bad. They should have suspended him 4 games with no pay. Conferred with the league as to what they could do next.
I am sure he would have done something stupid again so the team could suspend him again or the league. They could have made this clown sit the whole season w/o pay because he isn’t smart enough to not do stupid stuff. Then they could have cut him as late as possible with him skipping camp again. Dude is a cancer and I am glad he had a deal with NE. Not sure if it was tampering or not. Just glad Billy gets to deal with him.
Raider fans like I have said before I respect most of your fans you are crazy but in a fun way. I am a die hard Raider Hater but that doesn’t mean I hate you. It is just a game and fun. Doesn’t need to get personal.
I also feel sorry for the later years in Als life when he was senile and the whole tenure under Chuckles. You won’t get better until you get a smarter owner. Who gives a guy who hasn’t coached in ten years or whatever a 10 year $100 mill contract guaranteed? Chuckie took a great team to the SB built by somebody else. He never did anything with a team he built.
Throw in a midget and I’m in!!!
Just reading Browns email to his accuser I believe the league should err on the side of believing the victim and place him on the exempt list until more clarity can be established. He basically corroborated his accusers story about the first sexual assault and said he laughed about it… letting him play is not the correct response at this time.
This is the NFL’s 100th anniversary season so obviously Goodell will bend over backwards to project the image that all is well in the his kingdom.
