The Jaguars are seeking two first-round picks in a trade for cornerback Jalen Ramsey, Albert Breer of The MMQB tweets. Furthermore, that asking price is just the starting point.

Ramsey, naturally, is a wanted commodity. He won’t turn 25 until October and is still under contract at below market rates through 2020 thanks to his rookie contract and fifth-year option. At the same time – it’ll cost a bundle to extend Ramsey on a long-term deal and two first-round picks is a lot to surrender.
As Breer notes, the asking price is not completely out of the realm of possibility, especially in light of the package – featuring two-first rounders – that the Texans shipped to the Dolphins to acquire Laremy Tunsil. For now, the asking price is too rich for the blood of most teams, Dianna Russini of ESPN.com (on Twitter) hears. But, things could quickly change.
He will finish this season and then sit out until he’s the highest-paid DB in the league. Anyone would be foolish to spend two first rounders on him unless they’re in an extreme win-now mode and are ready to splurge financially.
I dont think he would sit out next season if he were on the Pats or Rams
If he sits, he doesn’t get credit for a season towards FA. That’s why the Chargers RB will be back soon.
And the rest of the players on the Jaguars watch how their team’s owner and management handles players… The Jags were on a course to become a very good team. Not anymore…
Nobody is gonna trade for Ramsey this year with that asking price. The Jags will probably wind up trading him for a 1st and a 4th in the offseason
I don’t agree. Bears gave 2 #1 picks for Khalil before signing him to $141 mil deal and the Texans just gave up even more for Laremy Turnstyle… i mean Tunsil. Teams will pay up big draft capital for certain important positions – DE, LT, QB, and CB if the guy is good.
I was all over my Raiders giving a #1 pick for Ramsey, but 2 #1’s is too rich for a team with as many holes as we still have.
Id do one of our 1sts this year plus karl joseph.
You own what team?
This ^ thank you green monster. I’m glad I’m not the only one this ticks off.
Ramsey won’t play on his current contract next year so giving up 2 first rounders would be foolish. Anyone that wants him has to go in expecting to extend him and most likely make him the highest paid CB in football.
Didn’t stop Bears trading for Mack. Ramsey is only turning 25 too which is 2 years younger than Mack
The Bears paid Mack tho.
The Tunsil trade messed up the trade value of players for every other GM. Normally you’d say sure a 1st probably gets it done. Ultimately I’d guess a 1st and 3rd or 1st and 2nd could get it done. He will want to be the highest paid DB.
Thinking of teams that really don’t do much with their 1sts when they are later in the draft… Packers? Eagles? Pats?
Adding Ramsey to the Pats or Cowboys defence would be unreal. Maybe the Cheifs splash for him to counter the Pats getting AB
Cardinals could offer (2) first they should each be in the the top 15 in the next two drafts. Then Cardinals would have (2) ALL -PRO CB’s, But then since Peterson is coming up on his contract year after the 2020 season, maybe a Peterson and a 3rd and 5th in next years draft for Ramsey.
