On Thursday, the Bears announced the signing of sixth-round cornerback Duke Shelley. With Shelley in the fold, the Bears have now wrapped up their entire 2019 NFL Draft class.

Shelley, a 5’9″ Kansas State product, will compete for time as a slot corner and special teams player. He might not see a ton of defensive snaps in 2019, but he showed future promise for the position with three interceptions last year.
Here’s the full rundown of the Bears’ draft class, via PFR’s tracker:
- 3-73: David Montgomery, RB (Iowa State): Signed
- 4-126: Riley Ridley, WR (Georgia): Signed
- 6-205: Duke Shelley, CB (Kansas State): Signed
- 7-222: Kerrith Whyte Jr., RB (Florida Atlantic): Signed
- 7-238: Stephen Denmark, CB (Valdosta State): Signed
After Shelley’s signing, there are just 15 unsigned draft picks remaining in the NFL.
Very under rated draft class considering they didn’t have any picks till the 3rd round.
Truth
Unfortunately only George Allen could work miracles with a draft like that and I don’t see him returning to the Bears anytime soon.
Unfortunately they all look good and better yet they are all smarter then a lemon.
Walking about the supermarket produce section conducting IQ tests of the lemons, limes and melons must be fascinating work, but I imagine you get some strange looks from the customers.
