Josh Rosen is most definitely available after the Cardinals used their No. 1 overall pick on quarterback Kyler Murray. Rosen, meanwhile, appears to be fed up with the Cardinals. As Ian Rapoport of NFL.com (on Twitter) notes, Rosen unfollowed the Cardinals on Instagram after last night’s draft.

Rosen, presumably, wants out of Arizona, but this saga could drag on for a while. The Giants, Dolphins, and Chargers previously discussed Rosen with Cardinals GM Steve Keim, but the Giants are presumably out of the hunt after selecting Duke QB Daniel Jones with the No. 6 overall pick. The same goes for the Redskins after they landed Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins, but head coach Jay Gruden says the team wasn’t interested in Rosen anyway (Twitter link via Dianna Russini of ESPN.com).
Meanwhile, Keim didn’t start taking calls and texts on Rosen trade until minutes before the draft started, sources tell Robert Klemko of The MMQB (on Twitter). Keim’s apparent effort to keep the Murray pick under wraps may have hurt him – multiple potential suitors found young QBs of their own and no one came close to offering the first-round pick the Cardinals wanted.
Instead of trading rosen to the chargers along with the cardinals 2nd round pick for the chargers 1st this year and another pick the cardinals screwed themselves badly.
Chargers have Finley grier lock available if they are looking for and heir. Running out of teams to trade him to. And nobody is gonna offer more than a 3rd or 4th unless Arizona attaches picks as well.
In fairness none of those QBs you mentioned are going to be franchise QBs….although neither is Rosen for that matter. There’s a reason no one is ponying up a first round pick.
While I agree the Cards screwed themselves, I don’t know where you get that offer from. I don’t think the Cards could’ve gotten anything close to that from SD or anyone else.
Proof once again that this franchise is badly run and what causes it to not win. You now waste two first round picks on QBs instead of getting help for either Qb. Fine if you think Murray is better but you should have traded Rosen before the draft
No one likes picks leaked but everyone and their mother knew Murray was the pick so not taking calls until right before is fire worthy. Hiring Wilks last year was fire worthy. How does Keim have a job? He’s almost as bad as Gettleman
Gettleman is a genius I love what he’s doing with the team now they just need to bring back macadoo
Nobody likes their pics leaked when you’re picking in the middle of the round and somebody can trade up in front of you and take what you want. However, when you’re taking number one overall you control your own destiny you you know who you want and you should be taking calls and making a deal prior to the draft.
The Patriots have to do this right? Would be a perfect heir for Brady
no it wouldn’t. bad attitude, cant read a defense. would be surprised if they are even give a 2nd
Kiem is astoundingly bad at his job… he’s going to have to look at the 2020 draft for compensation for Rosen and probably not going to be in the first round… or wait until there is an injury in training camp. Or maybe the bengals are a dark horse candidate?
what? you mean the cardinals screwed up again? unbelievable!
I think the chargers will move up in the second to grab lock
Will never understand why you need to keep the pic a secret you have the number one pick not like anyone can leap frog you. This guy is by far the worst general manager right now in the NFL.
Gettleman: hold my beer…
There’s other teams like the Cincinnati, Oakland and San Diego that might use Rosen if ready
If the Pats don’t take him I’d be shocked. But then again, at the price they are probably asking, nobody will and they will have to keep him until there is an injury to another teams qb.
You’d think the Lakers handled it given how poorly Cards acted.
If I was him I’d just sit back and collect my money from the bench, hurt their pocket books then go collect in free agency
Yeah because after four or five years of sitting on the bench your free-agent market is just so huge he’s going to cash in majorly…SMH…
What good is keeping the #1 pick a secret? Rosen should have been on the block the second you decided on Murray. Makes no sense.
