If the Cardinals select quarterback Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick tonight, as most expect, then Josh Rosen will almost certainly be traded, either during the draft or after. His trade market has been fluctuating quite a bit recently, but Arizona will likely be able to get a decent return from some team that misses out on a collegiate signal-caller over the next several days.
But as Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk writes, Rosen himself remains in the dark. The team has given him no indication one way or another as to what it intends to do tonight, which would create a rather uncomfortable situation if Murray is not the pick.
If the Cardinals don’t take Murray, they will have to do a lot of work to mend fences and repair their relationship with a player that just one year ago was deemed their franchise quarterback. The same will hold true if they draft Murray and, for one reason or another, keep Rosen on the roster. Rosen has already admitted that he is frustrated by the situation, which is certainly understandable.
All of that makes it more likely, in Florio’s view, that the Cardinals will indeed take Murray tonight and will trade Rosen in the very near future. Rosen just doesn’t know that yet.
If the Cardinals wait until after they select, and if they select Murray, Rosen’s value plummets.
Like it states in the blog he will have value for whatever franchise doesn’t end up with a QB. He still has 4 years on his rookie deal at a decent salary.
If a Team doesn’t get their guy in first round could try and get Rosen. Lots of Trades in 1st round we can hope.
If Murray is the pick (which I think he will be), then Rosen just needs to do whatever it is in order for the cardinals to pay him if not traded for a while. If that includes showing up at practice, maybe that pinky toe is giving him some trouble and may need to sit out for the week. And then after that, the non throwing shoulder is feeling a bit sore, going to need to rest that.
Always easier for teams to give up picks in coming up drafts than the current one. AZ will get a better return by being patient and get picks from later drafts
It seems the Cardinals Front Office hurt the pre-draft market value of Rosen with all of their “mystery” surrounding the pick. Once they select Murray (should they do so), it will be a buyers market for Rosen as teams would be inclined to think the Cardinals now have an urgency to move him.
There would be a better return for the Cardinals if they exercised patience and waited until training camp or start of season to see if anyone had a sudden and urgent need for a QB.
and if Rosen gets hurt between training camp and the start of the season, they’re shyt out of luck

I’d hang onto him and wait for the yearly training camp injury to sideline a teams #1 starter and see if you can get a kings ransom for him. Like the Vikings gave up for Bradbury that year.
Would either one of them want to work behind the AZ offensive line ?
