It’s a busy day in Pittsburgh. After reaching an extension with Maurkice Pouncey, the Steelers agreed to a new two-year, $8.25MM deal with Ramon Foster, as Tom Pelissero of NFL.com tweets. Before the deal, Foster was set to become an unrestricted free agent on March 13.

Ben Roethlisberger‘s front line is now well set for the next couple of years. Foster, who earned $3.591MM last season, is now inked through his age-35 campaign.
Foster has been largely healthy throughout his Steelers career and ranked as Pro Football Focus’ No. 16 ranked guard in the NFL last season. His pass blocking, in particular, was exceptional. Foster’s 84.5 pass blocking score was good for seventh amongst all qualified guards, per PFF, slotting him ahead of big names like Brandon Scherff, Quenton Nelson, and Andrew Norwell.
Meanwhile, tomorrow figures to be even busier for the Steelers. The club intends to trade star wide receiver Antonio Brown by the end of the week and they’re reportedly pushing for a first-round pick in return.
With all the drama this off season regarding the Steelers I’m thinking they may surprise those who are writing them off. They still have too much talent to go away.
I legitimately can’t see them winning more than 8 games 6 is more likely.
Explain. They still have a top 5 line. James Conner proves he can be more than serviceable. Sure he had injuries, but Bell has had his fair share as well. JuJu replaces AB, you bring in a guy to be the number 2 receiver, keep Washington on the outside and you bring back James and McDonald as tight ends and the offense is good. Couple big buys on defense and the Steelers are still a top team in the league.
“JuJu replaces AB”. Glad People are already convinced & confident that JuJu will be able to handle those double teams the same way AB did and put that same production. Guess we will see.
I don’t think he will, but it doesn’t make the Steelers a 6 win team
No one said anything about that. Stop coming on these pages and starting crap for no reason. Are you a patriots fan too or what?
Hahaha… another comment police officer has arrived to stalk and regulate comments. This one went to community college to be a security guard
Hahaha yeah I’m the problem in these comments. Grow up little b**ch boy
If people stop responding to the troll, the troll loses and goes away.
Yet… you responded with nothing of substance.
Conner had nearly 1000 yards rushing and 500 receiving yards with 13 touchdowns in 13 games. More than serviceable with a pro bowl to his credit
I guess we’ll see about that. Coming from a patriots fan, your insight means absolutely nothing.
Troll or just uninformed comment? Steelers won’t lose 8 or more games next season with the players they have. That’s just so ridiculous that I can see why you dumped it and never came back to defend it.
Foster is in many ways the unsung hero of that very good offensive line. The Steelers have the depth to possibly replace Foster had he decided to look elsewhere, but he sticks around at a pretty reasonable rate. Good move.
The unsung hero was coach Munchak
Munchak was absolutely the hero, but he was very “sung”. Everyone raves about him and gave him all the credit in the world. With all the mistakes the Steelers have made lately, Munchak’s leaving, while very unfortunate, was mostly out of their control. Mike said he wanted to be closer to his family in Denver, and I believe him.
I don’t care about the actual football aspect, but glad Ramon will be back. His weekly radio spot is excellent.
Most football players that have radio shows have nothing interesting to say. Ramon is good and has a broadcasting future ahead of him if he wants it.
