The Antonio Brown saga might be coming to an end soon, this time for real. The Steelers are “close to a deal to trade Antonio Brown,” a source told Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Unfortunately, Dulac doesn’t speculate the team that Brown will be heading to, so we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out the details. In fact, Dulac says three teams are “still alive” in the process. Dulac doesn’t specify which three teams are still in the running. Brown was reported to be on his way to the Bills late last night, but that turned out not to be true.
Reports first indicated the Steelers were viewing today as a deadline to trade Brown by, but that was then walked back. All of the recent reporting has been that the Steelers continue to demand a first round pick in trade talks, and it’ll be very interesting to see what they end up getting back.
The Raiders have been one of the teams consistently mentioned as being interested, and they have plenty of draft assets to make it happen. Many teams have publicly removed themselves from the running, and the Steelers have seemingly been left without many options.
Vikes ya already know
Then they can’t afford a Theilen extension and the bikes fans will riot.
Vikes*
poor bicycles
Please let this end today.
Seriously. At this point they can trade him anywhere for just about anything and I’m fine with it, just so I don’t have to read about it anymore.
This has become the JT Realmuto of the NFL
Nice one!!
Packers!??
they’ve always made the most sense to me. they have space, draft ammo, and a small window to maximize Rodgers.
Small? He has like 5-7 years left….not exactly retiring tomorrow.
Not unless Rodgers keeps getting hurt. His NFL career keeps shrinking with every injury he has to adore.
I’ve yet to meet any human in life, much less a pro athlete, who adores his or her injuries…
i once met carl pavano when he was a yankee. I think he adored his injuries Butt i could be wrong 🙂
He is 35 going into the season . Has had multiple injuries the last few years. How do you think he has 5-7 years left?
Why not the Cowboys? I know they don’t have their first but I could see them offering a pick this year and next. Also Jones has dealt with high maintenance or “diva” WRs from Irvin to TO to Dez. AB would make them instant serious Super Bowl contenders and they’d have one of the most talented offenses in the league.
If he went to Dallas with that defense & running game. MAN… Instantly SB favs in the NFC.
dak doesn’t have the arm to keep brown happy
Seriously??
Seriously?? AB gets open deep against anyone and Dak showed all season he can’t throw the deep ball in tight coverage with any accuracy. I’ll give you the running game, Zeke might be the best in the game, but defense? Stats are skewed. Colts showed the league how man handle that defense.
They’re Super Bowl favs every year here in Tx
Defense? 3 starts are suspended for drug use lol
Their Deep on the D-Line, plus one the Best middle LB-ing Core n the NFL. Laugh all you want.
Not really, their QB is very average
Jared Goff just played in the SB. Very Average….
Jared Goff is “very average”?
Wow
What is he then? Did you see the Deer in the headlights performance in the SB?
So one game makes him below average?
32 TD to 12 picks and a top 10 in QBR is below average?
When did I say below average? I said “Very Average”. If you look at his 3 years, he’s “Very Average” which to me Is on the high side of Average, not below average. I looked up the numbers. Dak 67/25 TD INT ratio, Goff 65/26.
Dak 96 rating
Goff 94 rating
Being in the Top 10 in the NFL isn’t really saying much, especially after the steep drop off after top 4-5 guys. Some numbers looks better than actual QB play and team success. Garbage stats for QB on sorry teams are deceptive at times.
Dak started 16 games his rookie year to Goff’s 7 (Jeff Fisher was his coach. Need I say more) so Dak has thrown only 2 more touchdowns in 10 more games
Goff threw more 300+ yard games last season alone than Dak has thrown in his whole career
QB rating
TD/INT ratio matter. Excuses don’t mean much. Fisher didn’t throw passes, unless I missed something
Tough to throw passes in an inept offense schemes. Your boy Dak wouldn’t have faired any better. Probably worse
Look, we can agree to disagree. If you think Goff is a very average quarterback, that’s your opinion
Goff QBR in 2018 ranked 10th at 69.5
Prescott OBR of 57.7. Good for 17th. Middle of the road
If there is a “very average” quarterback in this conversation, it’s your boy Dak
That same defense that got ran over by CJ Anderson?
Yea… Still 7th ranked defense out of 32. Can’t be perfect every game
Or atleast when it matters
True. You can’t be perfect every game. But you also can’t be so unbelievably predictable in the playoffs
Still put the number 7 defense over over 16 game period. Just like you said up top. “One game makes them bad?” Like my original statement n the post said, of they traded for AB, with that running game and #7 defense, they would be SB contenders.
In my honest opinion, AB would be good get for them but I just don’t think the boys are super bowl contenders with Jason Garrett. They played just well enough to save his job last season
I don’t care where it is. As long as he’s on a great fantasy team for my dynasty league.
You’re a tool
I’ll believe it when I see it.
Fool me once shame on you…
Very specific info we got here.
I feel like the Packers and the 49ers make the most sense for AB but haven’t heard much about either team being in on him, the 9ers have said they will explore anything that helps make the team better but haven’t made a offer from what I have read and from Kyle and Johns mouth directly they haven’t inquired yet unless that’s just smoke to let people know they are trying to get him. Seems like maybe they are hoping the Giants will give in and they can get OBJ instead and while I’d love to have OBJ I think the Giants won’t trade him so they should go after AB. Packers have the cap space and need a WR like AB for Rodgers and his window is closing. Plus they have a new offensive minded coach so I do t get why they wouldn’t go after him. Curious to see where goes. The Raiders make no sense to me, they aren’t close to winning in my opinion so why even try. They are in rebuild mode and have a few years to get there with so many holes they need to keep their picks and their cap space.
This is getting like Machado/Harper saga …
Kind of lol
That mixed trade the bills is kind of crazy.
E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles!
No thanks!
I second that
He’ll probably play for conduct detrimental and not get paid for anything.
Keeper leagues praying Green Bay lol.
Obj to browns could still b part of prior deal, but if that part isnt happening, they may b stuck dealing to browns…flip 1 this year and the browns throw in a pick next…but if browns…woildnt touch it
Saints would be an amazing situation for AB. Talk about one of the most prolific offenses of all-time! Wow.
That would be interesting…
I’ll believe it when its announced
what are vegas odds on this?
It’s going to be the Redskins! Mark it down… for a 2nd and 5th this year
Just playing the what if game…AB with Cam.
Au revoir, Monsieur Grande Poitrine.
Why would any GM want this disruptive clown on their team?
Great player, but your team is better off without this clown.
Titans make the most sense for him to win now
Would be great with Seattle!
Anyone who would trade a #1 for him now is not thinking smartly.
At this point, I’d be happy if the Steelers just put Brown on an ice floe and shove it out to sea.
The issue is paying him more. I mean really if you’re a team, you trade for him and make him play out the contract. Or let him sit there. The only team in a crap situation is Pittsburgh. Ship him out to whoever gives up the most and be done with him. It’s not like Pittsburgh ever had issues finding receivers.
I’m saying he lands in Houston. They are armed with a first and 2 seconds to go along with 74 mil in cap space. Plenty of room to get Clowney and Brown locked up. Can you imagine Hopkins and Brown, with Fuller in the slot! Come on man.
Too bad DeShaun can’t hit the broad side of a barn after his injury…otherwise I’d agree with you that Houston would be an amazing landing spot for AB!
