The Raiders are one of “several” teams interested in Steelers star Antonio Brown, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com tweets. Rapoport adds that there is a market developing for the ultra-talented wide receiver.
The Raiders are in need of talent across the board and they’re a logical suitor for Brown given their significant draft capital. Oakland owns four picks in the top 35, including three-first round picks. The Steelers are unlikely to pry the No. 4 overall pick from the Raiders in a Brown deal, but picks No. 24 or No. 27 could be up for grabs.
Brown, 31 in July, earned his sixth consecutive Pro Bowl selection in 2018, finishing with 104 catches, 1,297 yards and a league-leading and career-high 15 touchdown receptions. Still, things went sideways between him and the Steelers. The rise of JuJu Smith-Schuster and the attention he received may have caused tensions to boil over between Brown and coach Mike Tomlin (plus other key figures), but that won’t stop clubs from chasing one of this generation’s most dangerous offensive weapons.
Didn’t Gruden JUST say not long ago that he is only interested in young guys? I would be surprised if they go for it…but I mean it’s not like Gruden hasn’t contradicted himself before.
It would be fun to hear Chucky explain how Brown is a better long term value than Amari Cooper.
Raiders have no interest in Brown
Yeah, because I’m sure you know more than Ian Rapaport, who literally does this for a living
Raiders Interested In Antonio Brown
I think it’s gonna be the Panthers when it’s all said and done a 3rd rounder next year & a 2nd this year
To much for him. With his age, salary cap hit, and attitude he going price for him will be a 4h rounder at best. Remember both teams will be taking a big salary cap hit for him. Steelers at almost $21mm and the new team at around $17mm.
And before people throw out the Cooper trade, remember, Cooper is still on rookie contract and is a lot younger and was traded to the Cowboys who have a history of overspending on trades.
I’m sure they have interest. He’s a great player. Also makes no sense for Raiders. I’d take him for a third, but not if he wants a contract extension
Why would a rebuilding team want a 30 year old cancer? Oh that’s right this is the same team that hired Chucky for $100,000,000.
The raiders gave a third round for Bryant so AB would be worth a first
If you use the Bryant trade as a reference, it shot be the 4th overall pick, then. Bryant was horrible for the raiders.
If there is any team out there who could potentially pay the Steelers what they think AB is worth, this is the team. Gruden throws draft picks around like they grow on trees.
Traded away a young WR for a 1st to trade for a 1st for an old WR? Right.
AB is wayyyyyyy better
And 13m more per year
Round 3, Pick No. 66
Cmon, give up the number 4 pick. I wanna see the Steelers get a real talent on defense.
Bye! Dont let the door hit u in the butt.. nothing but drama and a crybaby.. hope he gets a career ending injury or wrecks in his porch.. #Hater LOL! Go Bears!!
Tag bell again and let him and brown sit at home and play Xbox
