On Tuesday, Patriots owner Robert Kraft pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor counts of soliciting prostitution. Kraft has denied engaging in any illegal activity and recently turned down a proposed plea agreement that called for him to admit that he would have been found guilty in trial.
Florida authorities say they have hidden camera footage showing Kraft receiving sex acts from women working at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa. The footage, they say, also shows Kraft handing the women cash after the acts.
The sting, purported to be an undercover operation against human trafficking, has yet to yield any charges of human trafficking. Instead, authorities nabbed Kraft and 24 other accused Johns.
Recently, Kraft issued a statement on the case, though he did not explicitly admit any wrongdoing in his apology.
“I am truly sorry,” Kraft said in the statement. “I know I have hurt and disappointed my family, my close friends, my co-workers, our fans and many others who rightfully hold me to a higher standard. Throughout my life, I have always tried to do the right thing. The last thing I would ever want to do is disrespect another human being. I have extraordinary respect for women; my morals and my soul were shaped by the most wonderful woman, the love of my life, who I was blessed to have as my partner for 50 years.”
It’s hard to understand his plea in light of his heart-felt apology for his conduct. Perhaps it is a legal strategy his lawyers hope will lead to an agreement with authorities to reduce a fine or the number of community hours he might be obligated to serve.
His legal argument is going to be that the video evidence was gotten illegally and therefore inadmissible…no video, no proof of crime, case probably gets tossed at that point. I don’t know how good his lawyers think they are, but I read that was the plan. His apology is a clear admission of guilt
Being caught in a compromising position that puts you in a bad light and apologizing for it is different that admitting you did something illegal.
Johns
Ha hahaha
He’s only sorry he got busted. Not too often a 70 something man decides to hire prostitutes for the first time.
Yeah we’ll, his wife of 40+ years does a few years ago from cancer so my guess is when you’re a 70 yr old starting over with a new relationship isn’t so much a priority…
lmao, he has a girlfriend almost half his age
It would be hilarious to watch him do community service. Would the voracious Boston media follow him around!?
Not that it’s ever going to happen. Million dollar lawyers can work miracles…..
Wouldn’t happen either way but, yeah, more than likely the charges are dropped or some equivalent deal/
By the way the judicial service is now run he will get charges dropped.
Pleads not guilty. Goes on to state he’s guilty lmaooo
This is getting more absurd every day. Who the he’ll cares if he went to a pro? And doesn’t the police have anything better to do then try and get a guilty admission from a older John? Why don’t they spend their time jailing murders n real felons? I am so disgusted with Florida’s legal system, along with their old dirty politics during the Bush election. Instead of chasing a high profile John, maybe they should look into what happened in the Bush election that was tainted in favor of Bush Geo Jr. The only ppl who wish to make a scene over Kraft are the Patriots haters. And that is just plain jealously over their incredible run ♀️. Personally I dunno how the Prosecutor can sleep at night with his agenda every day.
He broke the law. End of story.
Whether he walks due to a brain fart is something else entirely.
Your constant “this is absurd” comments are as homer/fanboi as it gets.
He broke the f’in law and is not above the law.
He ALLEGEDLY broke the law. Being charged is not the same as being convicted.
I’m sure you’ve never thought someone was guilty until proven innocent.
90% of whites convicted OJ Simpson before he ever went to trial but the state prosecutors couldn’t make a convincing case before a jury and that’s all that matters.
You are a Pat Hater, n not open minded.
And would these “broke the law ppl” be saying it if it wasn’t the Pats?
Every one of these articles, you’re here defending him. Is he paying you $60 to wash his balls? It’s not the fact that he went to a prostitute. It’s where he went (where it’s illegal) and who these women are (trafficked sex slaves). If he’d gone to places in Nevada where it’s legal, no one would care.
I get that you like the Patriots, but please pay attention to why this is a big deal.
It is ANSURB! They are just headline chasing.
Let’s go to the tape. It’ll be something to show on the big screens at Gillette during breaks in the game. Might sell more mini corndogs?
Y’all leave poor old hand job Bob alone!!
And the replay states it was “ Oral”
The photo looks like he’s wearing a suit and sneakers. Cool!
What a Bone Head move
Seems like if you have proof that you are innocent, you’d want to put out that proof rather than just your assertions.
If he’s innocent AND the incident was recorded…lucky him…he can use that video to prove his innocence.
When you try to hide the proof, it makes you seem less innocent.
The onus is on those bringing chargers to prove guilt. The accused isn’t required to prove innocence or anything else.
Whatever happens from here on out, I’m sure the story will have a happy ending.
Rub and Tug.
I can picture the defense attorney saying, “ladies and gentlemen of the jury, it wasn’t Mr. Kraft who choked the chicken, but it was the chicken who choked Kraft.” (I hope they use this somewhere in the defense.)
Late breaking news the film was destroyed or lost. Charges dropped because of no evidence.
Kraft is hiring the Russians to wipe clean all the servers and computers of all the law enforcement and DAs right now. He got the contact info from Trump Jr. Now he is innocent.
