Kyler Murray has entered his name in the 2019 NFL Draft and league executives are intrigued by his talent. They’re also concerned about the Oklahoma quarterback’s situation and his true intentions, according to sources who spoke with Matt Miller of Bleacher Report.
On the baseball side, Murray is represented by super agent Scott Boras. However, he has yet to retain an agent for the NFL.
“He’s still going in the first [round], but he needs to get an [expletive] agent and do it the right way,” one person told Miller.
Another source expressed concern that Murray may be making a leverage play to get more money from the Oakland A’s. This jibes with other recent reports – even though Murray says he wants to play football, he is said to be very much undecided about which sport to pick. The A’s are still negotiating to potentially sweeten his deal and Major League Baseball is also working to bring the two-sport star to the diamond.
If Murray can convince NFL execs that he is serious about playing football, it’s possible that he could be a top 10 pick.
He was a draft pick of the Athletics last year. And he doesn’t have an agent?
And why is he not listed on
Baseball Reference?
He is a Scott boras client, the Boras Corp isn’t licensedas an agent with the NFLPA. So he technically doesn’t have an agent who can negotiate on his behalf with anyone from the NFL.
His baseball agent is Scott Boras. He isn’t on Baseball Reference because he hasn’t played any games professionally.
He’s a Scott boras client in baseball but he might need a different one for NFL
……. I think he may be a Boras client
His agent is Scott Boras.
You spelled Bora$ wrong
I heard a rumor that he might be a client of some guy named Scoot Borman? Not sure tho, seems fishy
He’s just messing with the NFL. Woe betide the fool who drafts this pint-sized miracle worker. First he won’t play in the NFL (a good thing) as if he did play, he’d be wiped out for good sometime in the first 10 games by a really solid hit while he’s on the run.
RGIII is just one of a bunch of running, light framed quarterbacks with short careers.
So what is Drew Brees? Russell Wilson? Neither of them are very big, yet one is a lock for the HOF, and the other has played in the SB twice. Don’t knock size, just cause he isn’t Bradyesque and stand at 6-4.
Kyler Murray is a near dwarf standing at 5’9″ in his sneakers with a very light frame. Russell Wilson is built like a miniature polar bear at 5’11” and 215 lbs. Even then Wilson’s size can be an issue and result in batted balls.
There’s small for the position and then there’s too small.
Murray’s a very talented athlete and fortunate to be so good at baseball (better long term pay, longer career, less abuse of the body – unless you are a pitcher). He’d be a fool to play NFL football.
Kyler fo life
I heard that his agent is Mike Boras
Murray is playing this really smart. If he gets drafted in the first round, he’s guaranteed $10M which is more than double what the A’s gave him. If after 2-3 years he cannot play in the NFL, he can pursue his MLB dreams @ that point in time.
