Adam Gase has been connected to a number of teams, but he won’t be in the mix for the Browns’ job. The Browns to have no plans to interview the former Dolphins head coach, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.
Word that Gase won’t be up for the Cleveland job comes as a surprise since many have connected the dots between the two parties. Owner Jimmy Haslam has tried to lure Gase in the past and he comes with a strong recommendation from mutual friend Peyton Manning.
It’s possible that Gase’s acrimonious relationship with wide receiver Jarvis Landry is keeping him from consideration in Cleveland. Landry took his Miami exit as a personal slight and laughed at Gase on Twitter, in emoji form, when he was fired on Dec. 31.
The Browns aren’t interested in Gase, but the Cardinals are, and they’ll meet with him on Wednesday.
Stupid decision. Gase would be great for cleveland. Considering all he had to deal with 10×6 6-10 and 7×9 was actually better than what they should have been.
Then why did Miami fire him?
Scapegoat. Miami is cleaning house top to bottom. Parker gone tannehill gone Quinn wake gone. They’re firing everybody and starting over.
Why’d they fire him? Franchises make stupid decisions.
Because he was awful. The Dolphins played like a disinterested HS team
I don’t think he would be good for at all. He runs a dink and dunk offense…which is why Landry was unhappy there. he asked for more vertical routes and Gase wouldn’t do it.
Baker seems to thrive in a vertical pass attack.
He was terrible.
No surprise. He’s overrated anyways.
For the Browns sake, let’s hope they aren’t picking a WR over a coaching candidate. But, they are the Browns….
But if he’s so great why did Miami fire him?
Exactly.
Browns need to hire Kitchens or hire someone who is ok keeping Kitchens. Him and Baker seem to work well together and if that’s the case he needs to stay.
What more does Gregg Williams need to do to prove he deserves the job?
Kiss up to Dorsey
0.01 percent chance they hire him. They will go in the offensive direction
Have a defense ranked higher than 30th overall?
The defense needs to improve a lot. I wonder what the defense would have looked like with a solid DT next to Ogunjobi. We need a big-time DT to complete our line.
Even though the Browns have played well under Williams he has made some questionable decisions- see late 4th qtr in the Ravens game when it looked like Landry caught a TD but was ruled incomplete. Instead of challenging it and getting a time out he just calls the time out. It was a “free challenge “ being he was calling a TO anyway. That being said not sure he will stay if he doesn’t get the HC gig
So basically if you want a coaching job you tell everyone that you’ve never heard of Peyton Manning….lol.
