In addition to David Amerson, the Chiefs will release longtime depth cog Frank Zombo.
The outside linebacker’s been in Kansas City since the Andy Reid regime began in 2013. He started 11 games in 2016, when Justin Houston missed most of the season with knee trouble, but will not be part of the 2018 team. The Chiefs drafted Breeland Speaks in the second round and plan to use 2017 second-rounder Tanoh Kpassagnon more extensively than they did last season.

Sad to see Mike Purcell not make it
Purcell, Reaser, and Redmond were all Baalke cast-offs, unfortunate they couldn’t latch on, considering they all showed some promise at various points, but, considering Baalke”s success rate with his former draft picks, I’m not all that suprised 3 more are going to be looking for jobs…
I believe it was about 70% of his former picks were jobless, and hardly any whatsoever remain with the 49ers…
Actually, out of his 61 draft picks from 2011-2016, ONLY SEVEN remain on the 49ers roster, with 1 of those being Mike Person after he changed teams coming back this off-season, and another being their punter Pinion..
Other than those two, the 49ers only have Jimmie Ward, DeForest Buckner, Arik Armstead, Jaquiski Tartt, Joshua Garnett, and Ronald Blair…Again that’s only SEVEN out of SIXTY-ONE PICKS, that remain, and it isn’t like the players that have left are lighting the NFL on fire, the vast majority of the rest are either pit of the league or are searching for anther shot, and the few that are still in the league are mostly just back-ups…
Zombo to Green Bay….book it.
