It’ll be a while before the Chargers get defensive end Joey Bosa back in action. On Wednesday, Bosa told reporters that he likely will be out at least until his team’s bye week, which is Week 8. That timetable would put Bosa in line for a Week 9 return when the Chargers face the Seahawks on Nov. 4.
Bosa had his cast removed this week and was expecting good news after having his protective boot removed. Unfortunately, he’s still experiencing instability in a major tendon, which means that he’ll need some more time to heal up.
The Chargers ranked third against the pass last season thanks in large part to Bosa, and they’ve clearly missed him in 2018. The Chargers are 1-2 after failing to provide adequate pressure against Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Rams QB Jared Goff.
The good news for the Chargers is that their schedule gets significantly easier starting this week when they take on the Jimmy Garoppolo-less 49ers.
Bad news for an already bad defense….. chargers are seriously lacking a pass rush and have been picked apart by first game starter Mahomes, Goff, and even first game starter josh Allen had a decent day moving the ball. NOT good…. another year of “what if”… for the chargers and chargers fans .
Yep. Everything was looking pretty good coming into the season but missing Bosa has been a very evident issue
Their schedule is pretty light. They can hang in there til Bosa comes back
I don’t think any schedule for the chargers can be considered light. I get that “any given Sunday…” thing…. but with the chargers…. you really never know. At least with actual every year contenders, you know the outcome 99% of the time. The chargers lost to the browns two years ago…. struggled to win against them last year… and the browns are a much better team this year. And that’s just the Browns! Not counting the titans and Seahawks who they also face before week nine…. I think, without a pass rush…. this defense could be in big trouble. I wouldn’t be surprised if we are 5-4 or even 4-5 by that point in week 9. If that’s the case, this team still has steelers, bengals, ravens, chiefs…. if the chargers can’t be at least 6-3 by week 9…. they aren’t making the playoffs.
They held in pretty well vs KC. Chiefs and Rams offense is so much more dynamic thab anyone else they play. At home vs SF, OAK and TEN should all be wins. Browns on the road will be the test but its not crazy to think they can be 5-2. @seattle is when their schedule gets tougher
Held in pretty well against KC?? They were only in the game because KC got such a giant lead, they stopped passing as much. Then the chargers got some garbage time scores against the chiefs playing prevent defense in the end of the game. That’s why final scores aren’t always the best judge of how the game actually played out. The chargers did NOT hold up wel against KC and their offense
But the browns loss was a year and time when they were already out of contention
All I hear is what a great coach Gus Bradley is. Ha
So much for the ‘experts’ claiming they were SB contenders. I even saw someone write an all LA SB.
I honest saw 0 people say they were SB contenders

Karma will always win….and therefore “Spanos Chargers” will always lose. Too bad Bosa is stuck on this pathetic organization built on Spanos’ lies, greed, and incompetence.
Sure, it’s so terrible that all he has to comfort himself is all those millions of dollars.
Conspiracy theory of the day… He’s sitting a couple extra weeks so the Chargers get a better chance to draft his brother.
