Marqise Lee is officially lost for the season. The Jaguars’ number one receiver was placed on injured reserve due to a serious knee injury suffered during Jacksonville’s most recent preseason game.
The group of receivers on the depth chart behind Lee are all mostly young and inexperienced, and Lee’s injury sparked immediate rumors that the team might be interested in Dez Bryant. Although former ESPN reporter Ed Werder heard that the Jaguars were comfortable with their group of young receivers, nothing can be ruled out.
A team that is looking to make it back to the AFC Championship game could certainly use a veteran presence in the receivers room, and Bryant is by far the biggest name left on the market. He recently left his visit with the Browns without signing a deal, and could be more interested in playing for a contender.
The Jaguars’ locker room is already full of big personalities, so Bryant might feel right at home. Should Jacksonville take the plunge and finally be the ones to bring in Bryant? Weigh in by voting in our poll and in the comments section and let us know.
Jaguars are too good of a team to allow their season be a bust because they didn’t have enough offensive weapons. Gives Bortles a better chance at success as well.
Definitely not, for what reason? Jags are going to be just fine. Dez isn’t going to offer them anything they dont already have. #shouldveSignedw/Cleve #fulltimeFreeagent
Seems pretty obvious to me
I just don’t see this happening. Is Dez Bryant a Lee equivalent? Will Coughlin put up w Dez’s nonsense after his outburst toward Bortles and his inaccurate passes? I can’t see him and Jalen Ramsey not getting into a fight on the practice field.
This just in. A poll in trade rumors swayed the Jags to sign Dez… said no one ever!
If they want any chance of having a passing game they’ll strongly consider him, otherwise teams are gonna put 8 guys in the box and wait for the run.
Teams are going to do that against them no matter what.
The Jaguars go as far as their defense takes them and any contribution from the offense will be considered a bonus. They are already at the top of the spending chart (207.6M) so why add Dez who is going to put himself ahead of the team no matter where he plays.
I think he would help immediately, but he is way to arrogant and takes plays off, with this said, cap money needs to be taken into consideration and need to make decision before New England grabs him now that Decker retired.
Dez Bryant is a cancer. Stay as far away from him as y’all can. There is a reason he’s still searching for a job. And there is a reason teams are offering him chump change to play for them.
