Khalil Mack has yet to show for training camp and there’s no resolution in sight for his quarrel with the team. The Raiders still have not made an offer to the pass rusher and there have been no talks between the two sides since February, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com tweets.

The lack of progress on a deal is a head scratcher, especially considering recent comments from GM Reggie McKenzie.
“Khalil is my guy. … It’s unfortunate that we have to go through this. But his camp decided to do it this way … and Khalil is not the first guy to hold out,” McKenzie said this week. “But we’ll get through this. But there is nothing really to report. He is going to hold out until he gets an extension, and that’s where we are.”
Mack is coming off of another strong season in which he tallied 10.5 sacks and 78 total tackles. The former No. 5 overall pick graded out as Pro Football Focus’ No. 5 ranked edge rusher in the league and he is looking for a deal that will position him as one of the game’s highest-paid non quarterbacks.
As it stands, Mack is slated to reach unrestricted free agency after the 2018 season. The Raiders can control him via the franchise tag after he collects on his $13.846MM salary, but Mack wants a long-term deal today that will provide him substantial guarantees.
Brandon Graham and pick for him. Eagles are apparently getting rid of him in the future anyway. Do it now and use Mack for the year. Still save cap space next year.
Roquan Smith and a 3rd both teams benefit
“But his camp decided to do it this way”.
So McKenzie is accepting no blame for the current situation even though the Raiders haven’t extended an offer? He better get off his a$$ and get a deal done because if the Raiders don’t rebound this season, Gruden will convince Davis to dump him.
This is just bazaar. They talked about signing him to an extension last year but took care of Carr and somebody else first but always said he’s our next priority. And now it comes out that they haven’t even made him an offer yet. If this is true they need to drug test the raiders FO.
If this is the way the Raiders treat a defensive player of the year then what kind of message does that send to the rest of the players on the roster?
Typical Gruden old school style. Grab the biggest guy and make an example. I don’t agree with it these days, but the Raiders are getting what they paid for.
Colts send 2019 1st & John Simon
Raiders send a player likely to hold out and an irritant to a coach not known for having a long fuse.
Who says no ?
Irritant to coach? They haven’t even met yet…lol.
This is a problem that can come back and hurt the Raidettes if they let him walk. Besides, they have a bigger problem on the horizon. The people here in Las Vegas are none to happy about spending 750 million on the stadium jammed up against McCarren Airport (they have to dig about 4-5 stories down so it will not violate FAA rules). Especially since Nevada has been named worst state for education. And we deserve it too….Golden Knights did the Raidettes little help here. People are mumbling that the Raidettes better be as good……Ho-ho-ho…….Not with Cruden….
best post i read all day !!!
raiders control mack for 3
more years, blame the
nflpa!!!!!
There is about as much chance of the Raiders letting Mack walk as there is of them bringing back Aldon Smith. McKenzie is just doing a lot of phony posturing with the hope he can impress Davis enough to keep his job.
and the other team in los angeles
has to sign a donald first/if and has
more $ and threw alot more $ around
in the offseason and is more talented
then mack
