The Chiefs just made a pick at No. 196 but have moved up to the No. 198 position, thanks to a trade with the Patriots.
Kansas City continued to add to its front seven, selecting Tennessee defensive tackle Kahlil McKenzie. This is the fourth front-seven pick the Chiefs have made thus far this weekend. Kahlil McKenzie is the son of Raiders GM (and fellow former Tennessee and NFL defender) Reggie McKenzie.
Two Chiefs seventh-rounders — Nos. 233 and 243 — will go the Patriots as a result of this trade. McKenzie will join Derrick Nnadi as interior defenders bound for western Missouri.
All six of Kansas City’s 2018 picks have gone to address the defense, which makes sense considering the established starters all over their offense and DVOA having measured the AFC West champions’ defense as the No. 30 unit last season.
That’s great the pats will leave this draft with no future QB and the same bad D it came in with
There are people coming off injury on D, that’ll help. 3 defensive players picked, and 3 more picks in the 7th round.
Do you just want them to make a pick to simply make a pick? Come on now.
Plus, 2019 draft is loaded for Pats picks.
I imagine they wanted to take Lauletta but I don’t think he was the answer and I think that’s why they traded back and they just would’ve picked him if he was still there when they traded past the Giants. Not taking Falk at 198 was mind-boggling though. But yes they now have 5 top 100 picks next year plus the compensatory picks for Butler, Lewis, Amendola, etc. The corner and LB’s they too should help the D, and I’m sure we’ll trade a couple 2085 sixth rounders for rotational defensive players during the preseason like we always do.
Oh look, a QB was drafted.
There’s our answer for why they traded back past the Giants. They like this guy.
OMG! The 5the best defense in the NFL didn’t draft a player! Oh no! Do you realiothat they had already improved they D in free agency? Come on, learn about football.
And they didn’t NEED another backup QB.
No, but they need a project for the future. Perhaps they felt the best about this kid from LSU. I figured they would have went Rudolph though.
You do see they lost a few players this offseason and you can count on Hightower getting injured most of the season now
O did you watch the super bowl the d was bad
Why does ESPN have Philly picking 233 right now?? Was there another trade with NE?
