Saints restricted free agent wide receiver Willie Snead will visit the Ravens on Wednesday, a source tells Adam Schefter of ESPN.com (on Twitter). The Saints used the lowest tender on Snead, which grants them the right of first refusal on any offer sheet. However, the Ravens would not have to forfeit any draft compensation in the event of an unmatched offer sheet.
Snead, 26 in October, wasn’t much of a factor in the Saints’ offense last year and missed the first three games of the season with a suspension. However, he averaged 70 catches for 940 yards and four touchdowns between 2015 and 2016.
The Ravens have upgraded their wide receiver stable by adding Michael Crabtree and John Brown this month. Neither Chris Moore nor Breshad Perriman did a whole lot last season, so the Ravens are looking to provide Joe Flacco with another weapon.
Why? We have other spots that need to be addressed. I think the 2 we brought in are enough. He wont really help the team anymore then those guys will.
Put Snead in the slot and that’d be a solid, if unreliable, top-3 with crab and brown out wide. Even more important when you look at the state of our TE position without anyone who can receive.
While I don’t see his role expanding beyond that of a Chris Moore or a Michael campanaro, is like to see a low-value contract with incentives bonuses, similar to the contract the orioles gave to Chris Tillman. He would add a nice RAC threat. 1st down WR screen and let him run. He could have a role similar to what I expected Danny woodhead to have
I don’t feel they gave Chris Moore enough chances. Im a Cincinnati Bearcats fan so i know all about him. He is fast and would be great in the slot. They just need to give him a chance
I agree. I’m a big Chris Moore fan
Again, no one to throw him the ball.
