Free agent linebacker Aldon Smith has been arrested again in San Francisco, reports Evan Sernoffsky of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Smith had been ordered to refrain from contact with a victim involved in a domestic violence incident, but police issued a warrant after Smith violated the mandate. The 28-year-old turned himself into authorities earlier today, per Sernoffsky.
Smith, of course, has been no stranger to off-field incidents since being selected in the first round of the 2011 draft, and the aforementioned domestic violence altercation was just the latest in a string of troubling incidents. The Raiders quickly released Smith following the episode earlier this month, and it’s becoming obvious that Smith will never play in the NFL again.
While his disturbing behavior will likely keep him off NFL rosters, Smith was once an excellent talent. During his first two seasons in the league, Smith posted an astounding 33.5 sacks, and even managed to put up 8.5 sacks during an abbreviated 2013 campaign.
Could you image how could he could’ve been if he didn’t get into so much trouble
Imagine how many chances he would’ve gotten if he couldn’t play football.
That’s not unique to football. People who are in the top 1% of the world at what they do typically get multiple chances like this.
What an idiot, what a waste of a career. Good riddance
I wonder what kind of penalty he’s facing.
Illegal use of hands, hands to the face. 15 yard personal foul.
FIRST DOWN!!!
SCORE!
Bahahaha! Intentional grounding of a human being, interference, unsportsmanlike conduct after the play…I hope he’s looking at 2-5 so he can get his damn life together he obviously can’t do that as a free roaming human being
Jail really isn’t the place many people get their live together. He seems like he will fall into the wrong group and just get worse. Just doesn’t seem to be very bright.
cowman707. He’s not an idiot. He needs serious help. You don’t know what’s in his head or what he’s going through.
I want to agree with you, but there’s a difference between substance abuse problems and violence problems. Yes, he needs help, but he’s just not the sharpest tool in the shed either.
AndyMeyer you don’t know what’s in his head either and can’t say he isn’t an idiot. The man has made bonehead mistakes consistently and hasn’t appeared to learn enough from them to stay out of trouble. I don’t feel bad for him or really care about what he’s going through especially if he’s guilty of domestic abuse
Politely disagree, he’s an idiot. Saying someone isn’t an idiot and needs help after doing idiotic things time after time after time is a cop out for personal responsibility.
He’d fit right in with the Bengals
He’d make it rain issues with da bengals
C to the T to the E
Where did you get your medical degree?
Vince McMahon will put them back in business
He’s probably innocent being framed by bvb the racist cops

Smith who? He played in the NFL, oh yeah: that’s right-he is that guy who threw everything away.
I choose not to call him an idiot. If it makes you feel better calling him that, good for you It’s very unfortunate. If it is domestic violence, then yes he has to pay the piper.
And if people keep making the same mistakes, would you not agree that they need help and guidance? Mental health is serious stuff
